Indications fucis for thrush

This drug was developed as a means of combating microorganisms that cause infectious diseases of various localization areas. The causative agent of candidiasis is yeast fungi, which, as studies have shown, respond well to such a substance as fluconazole, which is the main active component of the drug in question. This is the indication for the use of the drug. This pharmacological formula is taken not only in the treatment of acute inflammatory and chronic forms of vaginal candidiasis, but also for preventive purposes, anticipating the occurrence of relapses in patients with a chronic course of the disease. Having an antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effect, the drug not only kills the harmful fungus, but also relieves the inflammatory process.

Fucis gel

The modern pharmacological market offers the consumer a fairly wide range of products related to a single pharmacological group, but presented in various dosage forms. Today, a doctor can offer a medicine not only in tablet form, but also in a tube with a gel. Fucis gel is one of the forms offered by doctors to their patients for the treatment of the disease. The active substance is the same fluconazole, the content of which in 1 g of gel is 5 mg, accompanied by other excipients: polysorbate 80, benzene alcohol, sodium hydroxide, carbomer, octyldodecanol, purified water and flavoring. The gel is a transparent or opaque colorless liquid with a specific odor.

Fucis gel for thrush is used locally as an ointment with a broad antifungal effect. In tandem with an olive-water emulsion, it helps to achieve excellent drug susceptibility. Fucis gel has not been clinically tested in children, but an assessment of the reaction of adults showed that the drug is slightly absorbed by the body system, while it is normally tolerated by the skin and is not phototoxic.

The main contraindication to the use of the drug is intolerance or hypersensitivity to fluconazole.

Fucis DT

Dispersible tablet medication, after oral administration, is absorbed into the digestive system in a limited period of time. The total bioavailability of the active element exceeds 90%. The maximum content of the substance in the blood plasma is manifested after administration after 30-90 minutes. Food entering the body during meals does not affect this process. The period of half-excretion of the drug from the body takes 30 hours. This makes it possible to drink this drug once a day. The daily dosage of the drug is calculated based on the nature of the disease, the degree of neglect of the disease.

Fucis 200

For thrush (vaginal candidiasis), 200 mg of the drug is taken orally once. In order to reduce the risk of relapse of this disease, the drug is taken once a month at a dose of 200 mg. The duration of therapy can only be determined individually by a doctor. The period can vary from 4 months to a year. In exceptional cases, the dose and frequency of administration can be increased.

Pharmacodynamics

The active substance fluconazole is classified by pharmacists as a triazole compound. It is capable of radically and destructively affecting the synthesis of yeast fungal sterols. The antifungal effect is expressed in the specific effect on fungal enzymes, destroying their structure, thereby killing them.

Pharmacokinetics

The medicine has an excellent effect on the very cause of the disease, its pathogens. The active substance of the medicine is perfectly and quickly absorbed by the body. Moreover, food entering the stomach during meals does not interfere with the absorption process in any way. 0.5 ÷ 1.5 hours and the concentration of fluconazole reaches its maximum. The medicine is excreted from the human body quite slowly (with urine, 80% of the drug comes out unchanged). This determines its intake once within 24 hours. In case of vaginal candidiasis, one tablet is enough to relieve itching and discomfort - receiving the expected therapeutic effect. The accepted dosage is directly proportional to the accumulation of the drug in the blood (11 ÷ 12% of the active component binds to plasma protein).

With a 4÷5 day course of taking Fucis for thrush, the concentration of the substance stabilizes in 90% of patients. If necessary, a double dose of medication is given on the first day of the course - the effect is stable on the second day.

Fucis is used for thrush in the form of dispersible tablets to defeat yeast fungi according to the recommendations given in the instructions. The drug in question in the form of an infusion solution is prescribed by a doctor for both children and adults on an individual basis, also based on general recommendations.

Use fucis for thrush during pregnancy

During pregnancy, many pharmacological agents are contraindicated for the expectant mother. To avoid unnecessary complications, you should not resort to self-medication. It is necessary to immediately consult with the attending physician, since the methods must be effective, but safe for both the mother and the future child. Having carefully studied the instructions, you can make the only and not comforting conclusion: the use of medication during pregnancy is not allowed!

A specialist can prescribe this drug only when there is a severe rash or a dangerous infection has been identified. That is, only when the risk of the disease exceeds the danger to the unborn child.

When taking the medicine, its active component is not only perfectly absorbed by the blood, but also by all liquid components of the body, including breast milk. Therefore, specialists try not to prescribe it during lactation. [ 10 ]

Contraindications

When discussing contraindications to the use of Fucis for thrush, it is worth highlighting some:

  • Pregnancy, especially the first trimester.
  • Lactation.
  • Children under 7 years of age, and dispersible tablets - for children under 3 years of age.
  • Individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
  • Fucis is not prescribed for thrush if the patient’s work is closely related to dangerous mechanisms.

If the patient is already receiving medications such as terfenadine or cisapride.

Overdose

In any case, taking a larger dose is bad. An overdose of Fucis for thrush can cause a headache with dizziness and hallucinations. Some patients who have taken an increased amount of the drug develop paranoid, obsessive ideas.

In case of overdose, the patient should undergo gastric lavage as soon as possible and be given a diuretic. Hemodialysis is also effective.

Interactions with other drugs

The simultaneous use of several drugs can both improve anticoagulation and lead to undesirable consequences. Based on this, the combination of drugs and their dosage should be clearly calculated by the attending physician, who is obliged to constantly monitor the temporary prothrombin throughout the course of treatment. The basis of Fucis for thrush is the component fluconazole. When used in the treatment process, the dosage of midazolam in the blood increases. With the combined oral use of midazolam and Fucis, a psychomotor reaction of the patient's body is quite possible.

The combination of fluconazole and benzodiazepine is unsafe. It can only be used under constant medical supervision, reducing the dosage of benzodiazepine.

The combination of cisapride and fluconazole, when used together, is contraindicated due to the negative side effect affecting the cardiovascular system.

An increase in the plasma fraction of cyclosporine in blood vessels is noted with the combined use of Fucis. If this combination is nevertheless necessary, the doctor must adjust the dose of cyclosporine, constantly checking its concentration in the blood.

Hydrochlorothiazide, when combined with fucis, promotes a significant increase in plasma concentrations of fluconazole. However, in this case, there is no need to adjust the doses of the drugs.

Inflammation of the choroid of the eye may result from the simultaneous use of fluconazole and rifabutin.

If it is necessary to use Fucis with phenytoin, it is necessary to strengthen monitoring of the phenytoin level in the blood and, if it deviates from the norm, change the dose.

Concomitant use of fluconazole with sulfonylurea medications results in a prolongation of the half-life. This factor may contribute to the development of hypoglycemia in people with diabetes.

The simultaneous use of rifampicin and fucise requires an increase in the dose of fluconazole.

The combination of fluconazole and tacrolimus causes increased mutual nephrotoxicity.
