Fitoven is a complex medicine for external treatment, possessing angioprotective activity. It is used to provide a protective effect on veins and capillaries. The composition of the drug contains an extract of the herb of medicinal sweet clover, an extract of esculus seeds, and in addition lavender and rosemary oil.

The main active ingredients of sweet clover extract are coumarin and melitolin, which complement the effect of esculus. They strengthen the vascular walls and improve blood circulation processes within the veins. [ 1 ]

Indications Fitoven

It is used to eliminate symptoms of diseases associated with peripheral blood flow disorders:

  • varicose or prevaricose syndrome, as well as chronic venous insufficiency;
  • DVT;
  • phlebitis caused by intravenous injections, as well as superficial thrombophlebitis;
  • postoperative or traumatic swelling, bruises, and hematomas.

Release form

The medicinal product is released in the form of a gel - inside tubes with a volume of 50 or 100 ml.

Pharmacodynamics

Aesculus seed extract is a mixture of triterpene-type glycosides; it has anti-exudative and anti-inflammatory effects, and in addition, it increases the strength of capillary walls, which reduces the filtration of water and low-molecular proteins with electrolytes into the intercellular space. This leads to a decrease in tissue edema.

The drug increases vascular tone of veins and improves rheological blood characteristics. It has moderate anticoagulant activity. [ 2 ]

Dosing and administration

The medicine is used externally. A thin layer of gel, gently rubbing, is applied to the affected area, as well as the area around it. The procedure is performed 2-4 times a day. The legs should be massaged from the bottom up.

In case of trophic ulcers affecting the shin, it is necessary to treat only the edges of the ulcer (where blood flow is disturbed) with the preparation. The medication is applied gradually, in small portions.

In case of inflammation in the vein area, Fitoven should be applied without rubbing it in.
