Finalgon has a local irritant effect and has a warming effect. The ointment contains 2 separate components - nonivamide (a derivative of capsaicin), obtained from pepper and having a local irritant effect, as well as nicoboxil, which has a powerful vasodilating effect.

The principle of therapeutic action is based on the stimulation of cutaneous-visceral endings and potentiation of local blood flow, resulting in the development of warming, analgesic and antispasmodic activity.

Indications Finalgon

It is used for the following disorders:

  • neuritis, tendovaginitis or lumbago;
  • sciatica;
  • injuries, including sports injuries;
  • joint damage during the remission stage;
  • muscle pain associated with increased physical activity;
  • ligament damage not accompanied by inflammatory symptoms;
  • "warming up" the muscles before performing intense physical exercise.

Release form

The drug is released in the form of an ointment - in tubes of 20 or 50 g.

Pharmacodynamics

Immediately after application of the ointment, redness appears, which indicates that its elements have penetrated into the epidermis. The maximum effect of the drug develops after half an hour.

Dosing and administration

Before starting treatment, apply a small amount of ointment to a small area of the epidermis to determine the reaction to the drug. For 1 procedure, apply 0.5 cm of the substance to the affected area of 10x10 cm using an applicator. Repeat this treatment 2-3 times per day. After the procedure, wash your hands with soap.

To enhance the medicinal effect, the treatment area can be covered with woolen fabric.

It is forbidden to take a shower for some time after treatment or wash off the medicine with hot water.

If too much ointment is used, the patient may develop vesicles. It is also necessary to avoid getting the substance in the eyes or nose, as well as on the face, because this may cause burning in the eye area, conjunctival inflammation or facial swelling. If the ointment gets into the mouth, discomfort or stomatitis may occur. Repeated use of the drug leads to a weakening of the reaction to it, which may require an increase in dosage.
