Fervex has an analgesic, antihistamine and antipyretic effect.
Indications Fervex
It is used to eliminate the symptoms of acute respiratory viral infections, as well as to treat nasopharyngitis.
Release form
It is produced in powder form, in sachets of 13.1 and 4.95 g. There are 8 such sachets inside the box.
In addition, it is sold in a medicinal form for children - in 3 g sachets, 8 pieces per package.
Pharmacodynamics
The drug works due to the activity of its constituent elements.
Paracetamol has antipyretic and analgesic properties, affecting the central thermoregulatory processes inside the hypothalamus. As a result, the temperature decreases, as well as the elimination of headaches and other pains.
Vitamin C regulates oxidation-reduction processes, production of GCS, tissue healing, blood clotting, and also carbohydrate metabolism and formation of collagen with procollagen. It also helps stabilize the strength of capillaries. The use of this vitamin increases the protective function of the body (by stimulating immune reactions).
The component pheniramine blocks the activity of H1-endings of histamine. It helps to relieve the symptoms of rhinorrhea, a feeling of nasal congestion, sneezing with watery eyes, and also itching and redness in the eye area.
Pharmacokinetics
Once inside, the medicine is fully and quickly absorbed, reaching its Cmax values after 0.5-1 hour from the moment of administration.
The drug is well distributed within physiological fluids and tissues, and also passes through the BBB. Protein synthesis is extremely weak. Metabolic processes occur in the liver; in this case, inactive metabolic products are formed.
Excretion of drug components occurs through the kidneys.

Overdose
Long-term use of Fervex in high doses may cause the development of such symptoms as loss of appetite, vomiting, paleness of the epidermis, nausea and hepatonecrosis. Rarely, liver failure also occurs.
To eliminate the disorders, standard procedures are carried out - gastric lavage, administration of SH-category donors or precursors of glutathione production-methionine (after 8-9 hours from the moment of poisoning).
In situations where overdose lasts for 12 hours, N-acetylcysteine should be used. Along with this, other accompanying procedures are performed, depending on the signs of disorders that have developed.

Interactions with other drugs
Combination with antipsychotics, antidepressants, and also antiparkinsonian drugs may lead to an increased likelihood of developing negative symptoms.
Combination with agents that induce liver microsomal oxidation (including barbiturates, phenytoin, phenylbutazone with rifampicin, and tricyclics) can lead to an increase in the production of active hydroxylated metabolic products, which can lead to the development of severe poisoning.

Reviews
Fervex receives a lot of feedback on various forums dedicated to medicine. Patients note that when using this medicine immediately after the first symptoms of a cold appear, the development of the disease can be quickly prevented. But at the same time, great importance is attached to other factors - adequate rest with bed rest, as well as plenty of fluid intake. Compliance with these conditions allows you to support the body and strengthen its immune defense against the virus.
The children's form of the drug is also often discussed, which can be prescribed to a child over 6 years old. At this age, children are more willing to consume sweet syrups, suspensions and solutions than tablets, so parents respond positively to the drug. In this case, the medicinal effect is also maximally pronounced in the case of its use during the development of the first manifestations of pathology.
In addition to positive reviews, there are also comments that note the side effects of the drug - most often they highlight the feeling of drowsiness (although a similar effect is often observed in viral infections in itself).
At the same time, there are opinions of those people who claim that the medicine had absolutely no effect. After several days of treatment, the symptoms of a cold not only did not become less pronounced, but on the contrary, they intensified. There was also a potentiation of inflammation inside the throat, the appearance of headaches and muscle aches.
It should be understood that quite a lot of people treat colds as something not too serious, and therefore do not bother much with their treatment. Basically, attempts are made to suppress the symptoms that have arisen, but as a result, complications often develop that require more serious therapy, sometimes with the use of antibiotics.
In this regard, experts recommend that if there is no improvement after 2-3 days of taking the drug, you should immediately contact a doctor who will conduct an additional examination and select the most appropriate medication and treatment regimen.
