Enzistal helps improve digestive processes; is a polyenzyme medicine. It is a complex medication containing enzymes that facilitate the processes of digestion of carbohydrates and proteins with fats. At the same time, it also helps the complete absorption of these elements inside the small intestine.
Thanks to the drug effect exerted by the therapeutic agent, the function of the gastrointestinal tract is improved, and in addition, the digestive processes are stabilized.
Indications Enzistala
Used in such cases:
- substitution treatment of moderate or mild disorders of the exocrine pancreatic activity arising from chronic pancreatitis (excluding situations when the exacerbation of the chronic form of the disease occurs);
- improvement of digestive processes in the case of IBS, ulcerative colitis, and also after the gastric resection procedure;
- bloating and occasional diarrhea with a non-infectious etiology;
- improvement of food digestion processes in people with healthy gastrointestinal function in case of violations of the normal nutritional regimen (eating fried, fatty or unusual dishes, eating large volumes or irregular meals);
- disorders of chewing activity and conditions in which prolonged immobilization is observed;
- preparation for performing ultrasound or x-ray procedures in the peritoneum;
- as an additional component to increase the efficiency of assimilation of fat-soluble type vitamins and certain medications (among them sulfonamides, PAS and antibiotics).
Release form
The release of the drug substance is made in tablets - 10 pieces inside the cell bundle; In the box - 2 or 8 such packs.
Pharmacodynamics
The bile extract helps fat emulsification, and also improves the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins and fats, and also stimulates the activity of the lipase.
The hemicellulose enzyme helps break down fiber that is plant-based.
Pharmacokinetics
The drug does not undergo absorption and has no effect inside the intestinal lumen. The tablet has an acid-resistant coating that prevents the inactivation of the drug's enzymes under the influence of hydrochloric gastric acid.
The shell dissolves with the subsequent release of enzymes inside the small intestine (under the action of an alkaline medium). This is the best way to develop enzyme activity.
Dosing and administration
To use the drug should be on the 1st tablet with food or immediately after it (drink down with plain water). Chew pill is not necessary. If required, the portion can be increased to 2 tablets.
The duration of a therapeutic cycle can be several days (in case of problems with digestive processes arising due to nutritional disorders) or several months or years (if regular replacement therapy is required).
Use Enzistala during pregnancy
There is too little information regarding the safety of taking Enzistal for HB or pregnancy. It is possible to prescribe it in the specified periods only in those situations when the probable benefit exceeds the possible risks of the development of negative consequences.
Contraindications
The main contraindications:
- severe intolerance caused by the elements of the drug or pancreatic enzymes that have an animal nature;
- hepatitis in the active phase;
- jaundice, having a mechanical form;
- obstructive intestinal obstruction;
- active phase of pancreatitis or exacerbation of its chronic form.
Side effects Enzistala
Using a single dose of drugs causes diarrhea, flatulence, nausea, constipation, epigastric discomfort, vomiting, pain in the abdominal area and a change in stool consistency. Sometimes there may be colic inside the intestines, colicky pain, blockage of the intestine and irritation in the area around the anus (especially in the case of taking very large portions of the medicine).
Signs of intolerance may be observed, including anaphylactic symptoms, itching, sneezing, urticaria, rashes, tearing, angioedema, and reddening of the epidermis.
Reception of very large portions of the medication may cause an increase in the blood index of uric acid.
There may be irritation of the oral mucosa, especially in the case of the introduction of large doses.
Long-term use of large portions of medication can provoke hyperuricuria.
It must be borne in mind that the side effects associated with the digestive system may also be caused by the underlying pathology.

Overdose
Prolonged use of large dosages may provoke hyperuricuria or -uricemia. In addition, side effects of drugs may increase.
The medication is canceled, symptomatic actions are performed and adequate hydration is ensured.
Interactions with other drugs
Enzistal helps to more effectively absorb antibiotics, fat-soluble type vitamins, PAS and sulfonamides.
Combining pancreatin with K-vitamin antagonists, anticoagulants, or aspirin reduces the effect of these drugs. In addition, when combined with pancreatin, the effectiveness of monoamine non-selective inhibitors decreases.
Introduction together with m-anticholinergic potentiates the anticholinergic activity of these funds.
The use of the drug can lead to a weakening of the absorption of B9-vitamin and a weakening of the antidiabetic properties of acarbose.
In the case of long-term use of the drug weakens the absorption of Fe, which is why it is not recommended to use it with iron substances.
Combination with magnesium or calcium antacids can provoke a weakening of the therapeutic effect of Enzistal.
Use together with alcohol-containing substances or tannin may cause a decrease in drug activity of the drug.
When using cimetidine, potentiation of the effect of drugs occurs.

Storage conditions
Enzistal required to keep in place, closed from the penetration of young children. The temperature level is maximum 25 ° С.
Shelf life
Enzistal can be used within a 36-month period from the time the therapeutic agent is delivered.
Application for children
The medicine is not used in pediatrics.
