The health of our loved ones, as well as pets, depends on many reasons. One of them is the prevention of infection with all kinds of parasites that enter the body with food, water, or as a result of non-compliance with hygiene rules. Internal parasites - helminths, or worms - can significantly and negatively affect the health of both people and animals. Drops for worms: what are they, and how to choose the right drug?
Indications for use: when should you think about taking deworming drops?
Like any disease, worm infestation has its own symptoms that are worth paying attention to:
- skin rash;
- frequent and prolonged headaches;
- unstable stool - constipation alternates with diarrhea;
- attacks of nausea;
- anxiety, uneven sleep;
- swelling of the lower extremities not associated with any disease;
- enlarged lymph nodes;
- a feeling of itching and discomfort in the anal area;
- tendency to allergies;
- periodic causeless pain in the abdominal area;
- increased fatigue;
- unpleasant taste in the mouth;
- muscle pain not associated with physical activity;
- slight rise in temperature;
- yellowing of the skin and mucous membranes;
- grinding teeth during sleep;
- changes in appetite against the background of weight loss.
If any of the symptoms are familiar to you, it is advisable to take a stool test for helminth eggs (at least three times) and a blood test. If the doctor determines helminthiasis, then you will have to undergo complex treatment.
As a rule, if one family member is found to have worms, then antihelminthic treatment is prescribed to the entire family, as well as pets. The same thing happens when a helminthic invasion is found in a cat or dog: both adults and children living in the family receive antihelminthic drops.
