  • additional component – purified water.

The drug is available in polymer bottles, 100 ml of solution per bottle.

Pharmacodynamics

The active component of the drug is known for its extensive bactericidal action, directed even against those microorganisms that do not respond to most antibiotics.

Desmistin has a destructive effect on bacteria:

  • gram (+) – staphylococci and streptococci;
  • gram (-) – Escherichia, Klebsiella, Pseudomonas, etc.;
  • aerobes and anaerobes (monocultures and bacterial strains);
  • fungal infection – ascomycetes, yeast and yeast-like fungi, dermatophytes and other pathogenic fungi, including those resistant to antifungal agents;
  • viral infection – complex viruses (herpes pathogen, immunodeficiency, etc.);
  • sexually transmitted infections – chlamydia, treponema, trichomonas, gonorrhea pathogens, etc.

Desmistin is an excellent preventative measure against infection of wound and burn surfaces, stimulates tissue regeneration. Increases local immunity by enhancing the activity and capabilities of the phagocytic system, activates the activity of macrocytes and macrophages. Refers to drugs that create high osmotic pressure in wounds, as a result of which the inflammatory process is eliminated, exudative fluid (pus) is removed from the wound, and a dry crust forms faster. Desmistin does not have a negative effect on granulation and healthy tissues, does not interfere with border epithelialization.

Does not cause allergies and does not irritate the skin and mucous membranes.

Pharmacokinetics

External use of Desmistin prevents the drug from penetrating through the skin and mucous membranes into the systemic circulation.

Desmistin is approved for use by pregnant women, as it does not have the ability to penetrate into the systemic circulation when applied externally, and, accordingly, cannot have any effect on either the development of the fetus or the course of pregnancy.
