It is also indicated for rheumatoid diseases that affect soft tissues, namely tendovaginitis, bursitis, lesions of periarticular tissues. It can be used for post-traumatic inflammatory processes in soft tissues and joints caused by sprains, strains and bruises, as well as for pain in the back and lower back.

Release form

Deep Relief is a gel for external use. The gel is transparent and has a distinct menthol smell. The medicine is packaged in aluminum tubes of fifteen, thirty, fifty or one hundred grams each. The tubes are placed one by one in a cardboard box and supplied with a leaflet with instructions. One hundred grams of gel contains five grams of the active substance - ibuprofen and three grams of another active substance - levomenthol (menthol). The auxiliary substances include some purified water, denatured ethanol, propylene glycol, diisopropanolamine, carbomer.

Pharmacodynamics

The drug Deep Relief has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-exudative effects. The gel is a combination drug, which includes two active components - ibuprofen and menthol. The effect of menthol is expressed in local irritant effects, which contributes to the fastest pain relief of the affected area. Ibuprofen has a local analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-exudative effect, which provides the correct treatment of muscles, joints, ligaments and tendons.

Deep Relief helps reduce pain at rest and during movement. It also helps in the treatment of inflammatory processes, reduces morning stiffness that may be present in joints.

Pharmacokinetics

Ibuprofen is characterized by its rapid penetration through the skin. A small amount of the substance appears in the systemic bloodstream. The maximum concentration of ibuprofen in the blood can be observed two hours after its use. The absorption level of the substance when used externally is five percent of the oral intake of ibuprofen.

Dosing and administration

Deep Relief is applied externally. The gel in the amount of three to five centimeters of the squeezed column is applied in a thin layer to the desired area of the skin, and then lightly rubbed in. This procedure must be done four times a day. After using the drug, you must wash your hands. The course of therapy is no more than ten days.

Use Deep Relief during pregnancy

Deep Relief therapy should not be used during pregnancy and lactation.

Contraindications

  • The presence of hypersensitivity to ibuprofen, acetylsalicylic acid, as well as to any other components of the drug.
  • History of bronchial asthma, which is provoked by the use of acetylsalicylic acid, as well as other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
  • Damaged skin at the site of drug application.
  • The patient is under fourteen years of age.

Side effects Deep Relief

  • Local reactions may include eczema, photosensitivity, contact dermatitis accompanied by itching, redness of the skin, swelling, papules, vesicles and peeling.
  • Systemic reactions include the appearance of generalized skin rash, allergic reactions, urticaria, angioedema, bronchospasm, and symptoms of photosensitivity.

Overdose

  • Local use of the drug does not lead to overdose.
  • With large doses of the drug, signs of nausea, headache, drowsiness, and hypotension may occur.
  • In this case, they resort to correcting the electrolyte balance.

Interactions with other drugs

There is a possibility of more frequent occurrence of side effects if the drug is used together with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and drugs containing acetylsalicylic acid. Also, the symptoms of photosensitivity are increased if the gel is used together with other drugs that provoke this side effect.

Storage conditions

Deep relief – at room temperature, not exceeding 25C°, in a room inaccessible to children.

Shelf life

Deep Relief has a shelf life of 36 months from the date of production.
