Dasikon refers to antibacterial drugs of the fluoroquinolone group. Antimicrobial drug is used systemically for infectious and inflammatory processes. 

Indications Dasikon

Dasikon is prescribed for infectious and inflammatory diseases, which are caused by bacteria susceptible to gatilofloxacin (cystitis, cervical gonorrhea, chronic bronchitis, bacterial sinusitis, infections of the genitourinary system, etc.).

Dacicon is available as a solution for drip. 

Pharmacodynamics

The active substance Dacikon is gatilofloxacin, which is active against many gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria. The antimicrobial effect of the medication is due to inhibition of topoisomerase IV and DNA-gerase.

Laboratory tests in vitro showed that the drug is harmful to a large number of microorganisms, including enterobacteria, morgan bacteria, Klebsiella, citrobacter, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella, Yersinia enterocolitis, Campylobacter, gonorrhea, most staphylococci, etc.

Dacicon is not effective against bacteroides, clostridia, fusobacteria.  

Pharmacokinetics

Bioavailability of Dacicon is 96%, in the blood the maximum concentration is reached on average after one to two hours after the administration of the drug.  

The antibiotic binds to blood proteins 20%, it is distributed throughout the body to all tissues and fluids.

Excretion occurs unchanged in kidneys (about 70%) for two days, about 5% is excreted with feces. The average half-life is 8 to 14 hours, regardless of the dosage. 

Dosing and administration

The medicine is prescribed by the doctor taking into account the disease.

Usually it is prescribed 400 mg per day, the duration of treatment is 1 to 2 weeks.

In uncomplicated infections, the drug is prescribed once (400 mg), further use is determined by the doctor. With endocervical and rectal gonorrhea in women, gonorrhea in men Dacicon is administered once (400 mg).

Contraindications

Overdose

Interactions with other drugs
