Darvillol

Darvilol refers to sedatives, which have a depressing effect on the central nervous system.

Darvil helps to eliminate bouts of irritability, soreness in the heart, calms, relieves spasms.  

Indications Darvillol

Darvil is prescribed for mild forms of coronary heart disease, neurotic disorders, which are accompanied by severe irritability, disorders of the function of the heart activity, which are accompanied by pain in the heart, with an excited state, the appearance of fear, sleep problems, and spasms of the intestine. 

Release form

Darvilol is available in the form of drops for oral administration. The solution is a transparent color, has a kind of ethereal aroma. 

Pharmacodynamics

Darvil is a combined remedy, in connection with which the therapeutic effect of the drug is determined by the action of individual components, which are part of Darvillol.  

A mild hypnotic effect, a soothing effect is rendered by phenobarbital and brominated, and also components reduce the excessive excitability of the CNS, facilitate the process of retiring to bed.

Mint oil has a reflex effect and eliminates spasms. 

Pharmacokinetics

Phenobarbital, a part of Darvillol, is absorbed from the digestive system in a short time. Binding to blood proteins occurs on average 30-60%. Distribution of the drug occurs in virtually all tissues. The process of metabolism occurs predominantly in the liver. About 30% is excreted by the kidneys unchanged.

The elimination half-life is 48 to 144 hours.

Mint oil is absorbed in the digestive system in a relatively short time. Excretion occurs in several ways: lungs with exhalation, kidneys, gall bladder. The main component of mint oil is menthol, which is converted in the liver into a compound with glucuronic acid and excreted by the kidneys.

Bromizovat and etil ether begins to be absorbed in the oral cavity and penetrates into the systemic circulation. When metabolizing, isovaleric acid is formed.  

Dosing and administration

Darvil, before taking it is necessary to shake well. Dosage in each case is set individually. Adult patients are recommended to take 60 drops per day (it is recommended to divide the dose into three doses). Darvil can be diluted with drinking water or dripped into a piece of sugar. The drug is taken before meals. With rapid heartbeat or compression of the coronary vessels, a specialist can increase the dosage to 150 drops per day (50 drops 3 times a day).  

Patients with a six-year age are prescribed per day from 3 to 15 drops.

Use Darvillol during pregnancy

Medication is contraindicated in pregnant women. 

Contraindications

Darvillol is not prescribed to patients who have severe liver or kidney dysfunction, increased susceptibility to certain constituents of the drug.

Also, the drug is contraindicated for children under the age of 6 years. 

Side effects Darvillol

The drug practically does not cause adverse reactions. In rare cases, there is a feeling of nausea, lethargy, rashes on the skin of an allergic nature, dizziness.

Overdose

Medication when taken above the recommended dose can cause confusion, drowsiness (it is possible to fall into a deep sleep).

With severe poisoning, there is a violation of breathing, rapid heartbeat, irregular heartbeats, high blood pressure, decreased reflex function, coma.

When an overdose is prescribed, gastric lavage, adsorbing drugs. In this case, artificial purification of blood is effective. 

Interactions with other drugs

With the simultaneous administration of Darvil with drugs that suppress the central activity of the nervous system, there is an increase in the therapeutic effect.  

Phenobarbital increases the activity of valproic acid, reduces the effect of glucocorticoids, oral contraceptives, coumarin, increases the toxic effect of mitotoxate.

Storage conditions

The medicine should be stored in a place protected from sunlight at a temperature of no more than 25 ° C. The drug should be protected from small children.  

Shelf life

Darvilol is 30 months from the date of manufacture.
