Dalacin C phosphate is a systemic antibacterial drug that is used in infectious diseases.
Dalacin C phosphate can provoke the activity of bacteria that are not sensitive to this group of antibiotics, especially yeast-like microorganisms. In addition, it is recommended that the liver and kidneys be monitored for prolonged admission.
[1]
Indications Dalacin TS phosphate
The medication is effective in infectious diseases, which are provoked by microorganisms sensitive to the preparation (diseases of the ENT organs, lower respiratory system, infectious skin lesions, purulent wounds, joint infections, bones, infections of the female reproductive system, etc.).
Dalacin TS phosphate is effective in inflammation of the inner shell of the heart.
Studies have shown that the drug is effective for oral infections (periodontitis, periodontal abscess), toxoplasmosis encephalitis in AIDS (as part of complex therapy), pneumonia, malaria.
In addition, the drug is used as a prevention of inflammatory heart diseases, inflammation of the peritoneum and the development of infection after surgery.
[2]
Pharmacodynamics
The medicine suppresses the ability of bacteria to reproduce and destroys them. The main active substance Dalacin C phosphate is clindamycin (a semisynthetic antibacterial agent).
Some types of microorganisms quite quickly develop resistance to the active substance of the drug (mainly strains resistant to erythromycin).
Also, the drug is active against gram-negative microorganisms (bacteroides, fusobacteria, etc.), non-spore-forming gram-positive anaerobic bacteria (propionibacteria, eubacteria, actinomycetes), Gram-positive microaerophilic and anaerobic cocci.
Clostridia are able to develop resistance to clindamycin more than other anaerobic microorganisms. Most bacteria of this genus, especially clostridium, are susceptible to clindomycin, but some bacteria have resistance to the drug.
Pharmacokinetics
Dalacin C phosphate in the body is almost completely absorbed. The maximum value of clindamycin in the serum is reached on average 45 minutes.
After oral administration, clindamycin is absorbed 90% in the gastrointestinal tract.
Long-term use does not cause accumulation of clindamycin in the body.
To purify the blood from clindamycin, the extrarenal and artificial way of purifying the blood is ineffective.
When the dosage is increased, an increase in the concentration of the main active substance is observed in the blood. At usual dosage after 6 hours after intake, serum concentration exceeding the minimum value is observed that can suppress the vital activity of most microorganisms sensitive to clindamycin.
Clindamycin spreads through tissues and body fluids (including bone tissue).
Half-life of the body on average about 2.5 hours (in case of disruption of the kidneys, the elimination half-life may increase).
Excretion occurs mainly in the form of inactive metabolites, about 10% of the active substance is excreted by the kidneys, about 4% - with feces.
In spinal fluid, even with inflammation, clindamycin concentrations are insignificant.
After taking Dalacin C phosphate capsules in elderly patients, elimination half-life may increase to an average of 4 hours.
The degree of absorption of the drug does not depend on the patient's age and food intake.
Dosing and administration
Dalatsin C phosphate is prescribed by a specialist depending on the type and severity of the disease, the condition of the patient, and the sensitivity of the microorganisms to the medication.
The average duration of treatment is about 7 to 10 days.
Adults usually prescribed up to 1800 mg of clindamycin per day. It is recommended to divide the daily dose into several doses. In order not to provoke irritation of the digestive tract, one should take the capsules with one glass of water.
In childhood (from six years) is appointed to 25mg per day in several receptions.
Dose adjustments for elderly patients, if there is a violation of kidney or liver, is not required.
Use Dalacin TS phosphate during pregnancy
Dalacin C phosphate overcomes the placental barrier. After a long reception of the drug, the active substance in the amniotic fluid reaches 30% of the level in the blood plasma in the woman's body. The medication is prescribed to pregnant women only in case of emergency.
Contraindications
Dalacin C phosphate is contraindicated in case of increased susceptibility of the organism to any component of the drug.
The medication is not prescribed for children under 6 years old, as well as for muscle damage (myasthenia gravis).
[9]
Side effects Dalacin TS phosphate
Dalacin C phosphate can lead to a change in blood composition (elevated platelet count, decrease in leukocytes, etc.).
Anaphylactic shock, abdominal pain, vomiting, upset of the stool, inflammation of the esophagus, disruption of the liver, skin rashes, itching of the skin, inflammation of the vagina, severe damage to the mucous membranes and skin (Lyell's syndrome) are also possible.
[10],
Interactions with other drugs
Dalacin C phosphate is incompatible with ampicilin, barbiturates, calcium gluconate, aminophylline, magnesium sulfate, erythromycin.
When concurrent administration of Dalacin TS phosphate and antidiarrheal drugs, the development of acute inflammation of the intestine is possible.
Clindamycin is able to block neuromuscular signals and increases the therapeutic effect of muscle relaxants, so that patients who are being treated with muscle relaxants are prescribed medication with caution.
Shelf life
Dalacin TS phosphate is suitable for two years from the date of manufacture. If the integrity of the package or storage conditions is violated, the medicine loses its effectiveness.
