Cycloferon is an antiviral medication with immunomodulatory activity. The drug induces high molecular weight the formation of internal interferon.

Powerful activation of immune activity leads to the development of anti-chlamydial and antimicrobial effects. The medicine has an anticarcinogenic and anti-meta static effect, which prevents the development of neoplasms. In addition, the medication prevents the occurrence of autoimmune reactions, due to which in people with systemic diseases affecting connective tissues and diseases of a rheumatic nature, pain is weakened and inflammation is reduced.[1]

Cycloferon enhances the production of interferons within the body. Their greatest number is observed inside tissues and organs with lymphoid components (liver, lungs, intestinal mucosa and spleen). The influence of the drug leads to the activation of bone marrow stem cells and the processes of production of granulocytes. In persons with immunodeficiencies of various natures, the medicine helps to adjust the immune activity. The drug can overcome the BBB.[2]

With the local use of the gel, the immune activity is enhanced, anti-inflammatory and antiproliferative effects develop.

Pharmacokinetics

With oral administration of the highest permissible dosage of the drug, the plasma Cmax of the active element is observed after 2-3 hours.

The decrease in this indicator occurs gradually, by the 8th hour after administration. Traces of the drug are recorded inside the body after a day.
