Centrum Silver is a balanced multivitamin complex, including 13 vitamins and 11 macro- and microelements; intended for people aged 50 years and older. Manufacturer – Wyeth Lederle Pharma GmbH (Austria). ATC code – A11A A03.

Release form

Film-coated tablets of oval shape, 1.29 g. Analogues of Centrum Silver include vitamin complexes for the elderly Vitrum Centuries, Multimax Gerontal, etc.

Pharmacodynamics

The Centrum Silver vitamin and mineral complex contains: vitamins A, B1, B2, B3 (PP), B5, B6, B7, B9, B12, C, D3, E, K1, as well as the carotenoid lutein (to maintain visual acuity). Macro- and microelements are represented by iron fumarate, manganese sulfate, potassium iodide, copper sulfate, zinc oxide, sodium molybdate, chromium chloride, sodium selenate, magnesium oxide, calcium phosphate (dibasic).

The mechanism of pharmacological action of the combination of components of Centrum Silver has not been described, but compensation for the deficiency of vitamins and minerals in the aging body allows strengthening the body's defenses and ensuring the physiologically necessary level of metabolism and functioning of various systems and organs in older people.

The vitamin preparation Centrum Silver helps maintain the optimal ratio of formed elements of the blood and the hemostasis system; the normal state of bone and connective tissue; the work of the endocrine glands; functions of the brain and central nervous system, etc.

Contraindications

Interactions with other drugs

Centrum Silver is not used simultaneously with retinoids, vitamins A and D, other vitamin-mineral complexes. Vitamin C contained in the complex potentiates the action and side effects of sulfonamides.
