It would seem that bedbugs in the house are a thing of the past, and nowadays you can’t find them even with fire. However, the parasites are tenacious, so they feel good not only in houses with wooden structures and old furniture, but also in brick and stone new buildings. Bloodsucking neighbors can ruin life even in the most comfortable home, which is why there is an obvious need to urgently get rid of unpleasant neighbors. After all, bedbugs and their annoying bites not only cause a feeling of disgust in every person, unpleasant sensations on the skin and prevent sleep, but can also cause serious infections.
Indications bedbug sprays
Uninvited tenants also live in other premises. When bedrooms, hotels, summer cottages are infested with bedbugs and other insects, there are indications for the use of bedbug sprays.
There are many mechanical and chemical methods to eliminate the problem: traps, powders, liquids, chalk, folk remedies. The easiest way to get rid of harmful neighbors is with bedbug sprays, because these products are specially designed for this; they:
- easy to use;
- economical to use;
- inexpensive;
- effective;
- safe for people and pets.
Release form
Manufacturers of household chemicals offer enough chemicals to fight bedbugs, cockroaches, ants. It is important to choose the most suitable spray for bedbugs, based on the composition, degree of toxicity, impact on people and other living organisms.
It is recommended to take into account the presence of pets, children, and people who are particularly sensitive to household chemicals in the apartment. If it is impossible to move residents away for the duration of the sanitary treatment, it is necessary to choose the least toxic spray against bedbugs.

Bedbug Spray "Clean House"
The spray against bedbugs "Clean House" destroys insects due to the high concentration of cepermethrin and tetramethrin, which settle after spraying on the floor, furniture, and other surfaces. The toxic components have a neuroparalytic effect, causing irreversible changes and death of insects.
When treating rooms infested with bedbugs, it is necessary to adhere to safety measures, clear the area, and thoroughly ventilate the rooms after work. Spray from 15-20 cm for several seconds. The aerosol is considered safe for children and animals, but you should still avoid the toxin from entering the human body.
One can of Clean House spray is enough to clear a small living space of bedbugs.
Combat
"Combat" is produced in two modifications: superspray and multispray.
"Combat Multispray" eliminates various types of insect pests. The toxic ingredients tetramethrin and permethrin enter through contact or through the digestive organs and paralyze the body's activity. The 400 g aerosol can is red.
Both bedbug sprays are quite effective, but if you have a choice, it is better to use Combat Super: it has a more targeted effect on crawling bloodsuckers.
Combat is super
"Combat Superspray" for bedbugs contains the substances cyphenothrin and imiprothrin, which, when they enter the body of crawling insects, cause their paralysis and death. The chemical is especially effective in destroying bedbugs; it can be distinguished by its packaging, designed in golden tones.
Benefits of superspray:
- the drug is easy to use independently;
- refers to low-toxic substances;
- does not require preparation: just shake the can;
- flexible nozzle allows you to process cracks and holes;
- sprays evenly, quickly and economically;
- has no repulsive odor;
- has antifungal and antibacterial properties;
- does not leave stains on surfaces.
When spraying the spray, it is necessary to use protection for the respiratory organs and mucous membranes. The can is held at a distance of 20 - 30 cm from the floors and objects to be treated. During the treatment and ventilation, no strangers are allowed in the room.
A 500 milliliter bottle is designed for an area of 50 to 70 square meters.
Raptor
The Raptor spray consists of several poisonous components: tetramethrin, cypermethrin, piperonyl butoxide, which provoke paralysis in insects followed by their death. Bedbugs infected by contact transmit the poison to other insects.
When spraying bedbug spray, it is necessary to strictly follow safety regulations and the procedure for carrying out sanitary treatment:
- wear protective glasses, a respirator, and gloves;
- clear the room of dishes, food, and personal belongings;
- shake the can and hold it at a distance of 20 cm from the furniture;
- treat all accumulation areas;
- After half an hour, ventilate the room.
It is important that the Raptor spray is safe for children and animals; however, to achieve the desired effect, it is necessary to spray generously, especially if there are a large number of parasites.
Raid
"Raid" is another preparation that destroys both flying and crawling insects, including bedbugs, at a low level of infestation. Poisonous components are especially effective against ants, cockroaches and similar insects; bedbugs disappear, for a while, only at an increased dosage per unit of treated area and with several treatments.
The disadvantages of "Raid" include a heavy smell and oil stains left on the treated areas. To eliminate them, you need to use a soap and soda solution. A 400-gram can is designed to treat 15-20 square meters.
Dohloks
"Dohloks", a popular preparation against cockroaches, also effectively destroys bedbugs, fleas, ticks, and various types of ants. The active substance of the insect poison is fipronil, used in agriculture and veterinary practice, so the preparation is sold not only in household chemicals departments, but also in veterinary pharmacies.
The toxin affects the digestive organs of small insects, after contact with the treated object they become infected from each other. After some time, the poison paralyzes the nervous activity of the pests, and they die in one to three days. The effect lasts for one and a half to two months.
"Dohloks" is produced in the form of a syringe-gel with a thin nozzle, thanks to which the poisonous substance can be easily applied to hard-to-reach places where these insects usually hide.
Positive qualities of "Dohloks":
- ease of use,
- affordable price,
- good quality,
- cost-effectiveness and duration of action.
The disadvantages include: inability to fight insect eggs; traces after treatment; danger to pets.

Bedbug Spray
Bed bugs are particularly harmful parasites that not only make life miserable and prevent you from getting a good night's sleep, but also pose a real threat to your health. It is quite possible to exterminate insects from your home using bed bug sprays, which must be applied to all areas where apartment parasites accumulate.
Bedbugs settle not just near a person, but where it is easiest to drink his blood, that is, to get food. During the day, insects hide in cracks in the floor, bed, nightstands, cabinets, other furniture, behind picture frames and mirrors, under radiators, carpets and other interior items, from where it is convenient to crawl out at night in search of food.
All these points need to be found and sprayed to destroy the population of pests and their larvae, which have increased resistance to poisons, as much as possible. In this regard, the treatment of sleeping areas remains the center of the entire area to be treated against bedbugs. In addition to using a spray against bedbugs, you should know that it is possible to effectively remove bloodsuckers from linen, curtains, and other fabrics by washing in hot water (from 50 degrees) or freezing (at minus 22), since they cannot withstand such temperatures. If there are a lot of bedbugs, then two or three treatments are required for complete extermination, with a short break.
Often, the time-tested insecticide Dichlorvos is used for these needs. It should be noted that a modern, improved version of the insecticide is produced under a well-known brand. A relatively inexpensive spray against bedbugs will come in handy in temporary housing to protect yourself, for example, during a vacation or business trip.
Dichlorvos has a strong odor and is toxic to humans, so when performing pest control work on your own, you must strictly follow safety precautions, rules for processing and cleaning premises. At the same time, the chemical does not act on parasites for long, and after a while it causes addiction and no longer poisons them, which can lead to re-infestation with bedbugs.
Pharmacodynamics
The pharmacodynamics of most components contained in insecticidal pesticides consists of a nerve-paralytic effect on the body of small insects.
[ 6 ]
Pharmacokinetics
Biotransformation of active substances of bedbug sprays occurs by ether hydrolysis. Inactive metabolites are formed, which are low-toxic for humans.

Dosing and administration
The method of using bedbug sprays primarily involves protective measures for the person performing the treatment of the area. If the work is performed by professional teams, they will take care of it themselves. When treating the premises independently, it is necessary:
- identify areas where parasites accumulate;
- stock up on a respirator, safety glasses, rubber gloves;
- wear the most closed clothing and shoes;
- clear the area of pets and children;
- remove bedding, curtains, and things from closets;
- close windows and doors;
- carry out pest control according to the instructions;
- allow the chemical to act for the time required;
- ventilate the rooms with a draft;
- Wash the room and furniture thoroughly.
It is important to know that if small insects have appeared in one dwelling, they are likely to be in neighboring apartments as well, since they can easily move through pipes, ventilation shafts and other communications. In order to radically get rid of parasites, it is necessary to sanitize entire blocks of adjoining apartments. In order to completely get rid of an insect invasion, it is sometimes necessary to treat the dwelling several times with various insecticides.
Use bedbug sprays during pregnancy
It is unlikely that a woman would want to personally participate in the use of bedbug sprays during pregnancy. However, if bedbugs are found in the house, the health of a pregnant woman is immediately at risk. After all, these insects cause unpleasant feelings that traumatize the impressionable psyche of a woman, and their bites can cause discomfort, allergies, and even a serious infectious disease.
In this case, pests must be exterminated urgently by any means, for example, by spraying bedbug spray. It is better for a pregnant woman to spend this time outdoors or in another comfortable place.
Contraindications
Contraindications to the use of bedbug sprays are the presence of small children and sick people in the apartment who cannot be moved to another place, and pets that are especially sensitive to bedbug sprays. Disinsection must be carried out in rooms that are as cleared of furnishings as possible.
Side effects bedbug sprays
Modern insecticides combine high toxicity for pests and minimal toxicity for people. Even if they enter the human body, toxins are quickly excreted through the excretory system. However, bedbug sprays remain in the air for a long time and can lead to poisoning, so precautions when using them include protection against toxic substances entering the digestive organs and mucous membranes.
But small pets are more delicate and can be significantly harmed by insecticides, so they should be removed from the house during disinfestation. When poisoned, they develop aggression, convulsions and even death are possible.
If aerosols come into contact with human skin or mucous membranes, these areas should be immediately washed with water. Side effects when in contact with eyes include conjunctivitis: the eye becomes red, watery, sore and itchy.
If a pesticide is ingested, qualified medical assistance is required.

Overdose
Pesticides are very dangerous for humans, especially in large doses. Inhalation of bedbug spray can cause poisoning, and if it gets into the digestive organs, it can be fatal. Slow poisoning develops even when toxic components are absorbed through the skin.
Symptoms of overdose of bedbug sprays:
- frequent vomiting,
- loose stools,
- increased sweating,
- convulsions,
- difficulty breathing,
- decreased visual acuity.
Without qualified assistance, the condition of the poisoned person will deteriorate sharply and within two days a fatal outcome is possible.
Assistance to the victim consists of providing access to fresh air and taking him to the hospital without delay.
Interactions with other drugs
Interactions with other drugs are not described in available sources.
