Biostrepta has proteolytic medicinal activity. The medicine contains complex active components.

Streptokinase is an element that activates the action of the proenzyme plasminogen (the activity demonstrated by streptokinase leads to its conversion into plasmin, and this component is capable of dissolving blood clots formed inside the body). [ 1 ]

Streptodornase is an enzyme that can dissolve existing clots of accumulated dead cells, as well as pus and nucleoproteins, without affecting the physiological activity of living cells.

The introduction of the drug increases the speed of passage to the inflammation zone and the effectiveness of other medications (chemotherapy drugs or antibiotics).

Indications Biostrepta

It is used during the combined treatment of inflammations (of a chronic nature) in the pelvic area, against the background of which fistulas, adhesions and abscesses appear, accompanied by the development of a purulent infiltrate.

It is also prescribed for infertility and ovarian cysts (benign).

Release form

The medication is released in the form of rectal suppositories - 6 pieces in a cell pack.

Dosing and administration

Biostrept suppositories are inserted deep into the rectum. During the first 3 days, use 1 suppository 3 times a day; during the next 3-day cycle - 2 times a day; and during the last 3-day course - 1 suppository per day. The duration of therapy is determined by the severity of the disease, on average, within 7-10 days.

To prevent the development of adhesions associated with minimally invasive surgeries, the medication is administered one day after the procedure. In the case of strip surgeries - starting from the 7th day.

  • Application for children

Not for use in pediatrics (individuals under 12 years of age).

Use Biostrepta during pregnancy

Should not be prescribed to pregnant women (especially in the 2nd trimester).

Contraindications

Main contraindications:

  • disorders of blood clotting processes;
  • severe intolerance associated with a drug;
  • use together with medicines that contain the element Ca.

Side effects Biostrepta

Occasionally, the development of local signs of allergy or a tendency to bleeding is observed, as well as an increase in temperature.

Interactions with other drugs

Use in combination with antimicrobial and chemotherapeutic agents increases the speed and improves their permeability into the inflamed area.

Storage conditions

Biostrepta should be stored at temperatures no higher than 10°C. It is prohibited to freeze the medicinal suppositories.

Shelf life

Biostrepta can be used within a 2-year period from the date of sale of the medicinal substance.

Analogues of the drug are the drugs Hemorol, Hamamelis with Prelax, Proctozol, etc.
