Bioparox is a topical antibiotic used for diseases affecting the throat. Contains the component fusafungine, which has anti-inflammatory activity.
When used in vitro, the fusafungin element demonstrates an antibacterial effect, which suggests the potential for developing an in vivo effect against group A streptococci, mycoplasma pneumoniae, staphylococci with pneumococci, candida albicans, certain strains of neisseria and some anaerobes. Indications Bioparox
It is used for antibacterial and anti-inflammatory therapy in case of active stages of inflammation in the upper respiratory tract.
Release form
The drug is released in the form of a nasal spray, inside aluminum containers equipped with a main nozzle and a dosing valve; the container volume is 10 ml.
Pharmacokinetics
After administration of fusafungine, it accumulates mainly in the nasal and oropharyngeal mucosa. A small amount of fusafungine is temporarily detected in blood plasma (minimum detectable volume is 1 ng/ml), but this does not affect the safety parameters of the drug.
Dosing and administration
The medication is used in a dosage of 4 injections (orally) or 2 injections into each nostril (nasally). The procedure is performed 4 times a day. If there is no improvement after 7 days of therapy, it is necessary to consider the option of selecting an alternative treatment.
Bioparox is used orally and nasally; a special nozzle included with the drug is used. The nozzle must be disinfected once a day - wiped with cotton wool previously soaked in a 90% ethanol solution.
- Application for children
The medicine should not be used by persons under 12 years of age.
Use Bioparox during pregnancy
During pregnancy, the medication is used with extreme caution. There is no clinical information regarding the use of Bioparox in pregnant women.
There is no information on whether fusafungine is excreted in human milk. The question of whether to continue or discontinue breastfeeding or treatment should be decided taking into account the benefits to the mother and any possible risks to the infant.
Animal testing has shown no direct or indirect adverse effects on pregnancy, parturition, fetal development, or the postnatal period. In addition, no effects on fertility were observed in male or female rats.
No studies have been conducted in animal studies to determine whether fusafungine is excreted in breast milk.
