A pharmacological agent used in proctology. Let's consider the features of its use: therapeutic effect, contraindications, dosage, side effects. Bezornil is included in the category of drugs for the elimination of diseases of the rectum and hemorrhoids. It has a drying, antimicrobial and astringent effect. Bezornil has shown high clinical effectiveness in the treatment of hemorrhoids, so it is recommended for wide use in clinical practice.
Indications Bezornil
Antihemorrhoidal ointment is a modern drug with complex action. Main indications for use:
- Haemorrhoids
- Anal fissures
- Eczema of the anus
The combination and ratio of the active components of the drug ensures effectiveness in the treatment of chronic hemorrhoids, its exacerbations and complications.
Release form
Bezornil is available as an ointment. This simplifies its use in proctology. The medicine is available in tubes of 2 and 10 g, the tube is sealed with foil and closed with a plastic cap. The ointment package contains 4 plastic caps intended for rectal administration.
The ointment is homogeneous, oily, light beige in color with a brown tint and a specific smell of borneol. It contains the following substances: pearl, borneol, artificial musk, amber, calamine, lanolin, sodium tetraborate and petroleum jelly.
Pharmacodynamics
The mechanism of action of the antihemorrhoidal agent is based on its active components. Pharmacodynamics indicates analgesic, hemostatic, antiseptic and astringent properties. This helps in eliminating the combat symptoms of hemorrhoids: bleeding, peeling, itching in the anus.
Since the ointment contains several substances, it allows for a complex effect in treating the disease.
Pharmacokinetics
Bezornil is characterized by low systemic absorption, so reliable data on pharmacokinetics are absent. Based on the data obtained by the experimental group, it can be stated that after application to wound areas, the ointment has a therapeutic effect.
The analgesic and hemostatic effect occurs within 3-5 minutes after application and lasts for several hours. A persistent therapeutic effect is observed with regular use of the ointment throughout the entire course of therapy.
Dosing and administration
The medication is indicated for rectal administration. The method of administration and dosage depend on the doctor's indications. Using a plastic tip, the ointment is inserted into the anus. The procedure should be performed after defecation twice a day.
If the medicine is used for external hemorrhoids, the product is applied to the affected area of skin after bowel movement using a cotton swab. It is recommended to cover the wound surface with a gauze bandage or napkin. The duration of therapy is 14 days. Repeated treatment and increase in the course is determined by the doctor, for each patient individually.

Use Bezornil during pregnancy
The appropriateness of using the antihemorrhoidal ointment Bezornil during pregnancy is determined by the attending physician. Based on the complexity of the disease and the severity of painful symptoms, the doctor prescribes the safest remedy.
Bezornil has low absorption, does not penetrate into the systemic bloodstream and through the placental barrier, therefore it can be used by expectant mothers and during breastfeeding.
Contraindications
The antihemorrhoidal agent is not recommended for use in case of individual intolerance to its active ingredients. Contraindications for use apply to patients under 18 years of age. The ointment is used with particular caution to treat elderly patients. Such therapy should be carried out under medical supervision to assess its effectiveness.

Since the drug is well tolerated, overdose symptoms are rare. Adverse symptoms manifest as increased side effects. Skin allergic reactions may occur.
There is no specific antidote; symptomatic therapy and drug discontinuation are indicated.
Interactions with other drugs
The use of Bezornil ointment with drugs similar in mechanism of action is possible with the appropriate medical indication. The drug can be combined with antihemorrhoidal suppositories, but with the observance of the time interval in their rectal administration. Interaction with other drugs does not cause side effects.
Storage conditions
Bezornil is produced in the form of an ointment, so it is very important to observe the storage conditions. Bezornil must be kept in a dry place protected from sunlight and inaccessible to children. The recommended storage temperature is up to 15 °C.
If the temperature regime is not observed, the ointment loses its pharmacological and physicochemical properties. Such a product is prohibited for use.
