Iodomarin 200 consists of inorganic iodine, which when it gets into the thyroid gland is oxidized and converted into elemental iodine and enters the thyroid hormones, which contributes to the normalization of its functions. 

Pharmacokinetics

Iodomarin 200 after intake is absorbed in the intestines fairly quickly and penetrates into all tissues and body fluids. The excretion of iodine occurs mainly in the kidneys, to a lesser extent, with light and caloric masses. 

Dosing and administration

Iodomarin 200 should be taken as prescribed by the doctor in the recommended doses.

For prophylaxis is prescribed for 1/2 - 1 tablet a day, newborns and children under 12 years - 1/4 - 1/2 tablet a day.

Pregnant and lactating women - 1 tablet a day.

Overdose

Iodomarin 200 after exceeding the recommended dosage may cause discoloration of the mucous membranes (darkening), vomiting (when eating starch, vomit can have a blue color), abdominal pain, dehydration, shock. In some cases, a decrease in the lumen of the esophagus.

The deaths were recorded after using very high doses of the drug.

Interactions with other drugs

Iodomarin 200 should be taken with caution with drugs containing lithium or potassium (diuretics), as there is a possibility of goiter, an increase in the level of potassium in the blood, increased work of the thyroid gland.

Salts and ethers of perchloric acid and potassium salt of thiocyanic acid reduce the absorption of iodine by the thyroid gland, and drugs with thyroid-stimulating hormones - increase.
