Pharmacodynamics

Decamethoxin is considered a sufficiently effective antiseptic, is an ammonium derivative. By creating concentrations on the cytoplasmic membrane of a bacterial cell, it binds to the phospholipids of the envelope and causes disturbances in its permeability.

Decamethoxin has a significant antimicrobial effect against streptococci, staphylococci, diphtheria rods and pseudomonas, shows activity directed against yeasts, molds, trichomonads, lamblia.

Resistance to the drug in bacteria develops slowly. Concentrations of the drug, sufficient to slow the growth of bacteria, are approximately equal to the concentrations that are detrimental to bacteria, viruses and fungal infection.

Pharmacokinetics

Decamethoxin is used topically in the form of rubs, rinses and lotions, so the degree of absorption of the drug in the systemic circulation is negligible.

Dosing and administration

Decamethoxin is used externally and intrabronchially (with bronchial pathology).

If you want to prepare the drug from a pill, then proceed as follows: the tablet is softened and diluted in purified water, saline solution or in alcohol.

For the treatment of pustular and fungal dermatological pathologies, 0.5% of the medicinal product is used on a water basis. Such a tool is used for wetting napkins and washing the affected surfaces.

In fungal diseases, erythrasis or lichen damage, apply napkins moistened in 0.1% aqueous solution of the drug.

In the inflammatory process of the distal intestine and ulcerative lesions of the colon, a 0.01-0.03% solution is used on a water basis (not on alcohol!) For setting enemas. The procedure is carried out twice a day for 60-100 ml, until the symptoms of the inflammatory process are eliminated.

With an inflammatory reaction in the oral cavity, 0.025% of the r-r water-based solution is used in an amount of about 100 ml for rinsing. In dystrophic processes against the background of periodontal inflammation in an acute period, irrigation of the affected areas of the gum with a 0.025% solution in an amount of 60 ml is used.

For the treatment of fungal lesions of the oral cavity, with ulcerative necrotic lesions of the gums, the preparation is used for rinsing the oral cavity with 0.01% aqueous solution up to 4 times a day. Duration of therapy - within a week.

In the acute course of purulent inflammation of the conjunctiva of the eye (mainly in the postoperative period), a solution (aqueous 0.02%) should be dripped 5 drops into the area of the conjunctival sac, up to 6 times a day.

Patients with acute otitis media should drip 0.05% solution (per alcohol, 70%) up to 4 times a day in the ear opening.

Intrabronchial use of 0.02% aqueous solution Decamethoxin, which is prepared in saline solution.

To disinfect the site of operations and the hands of personnel, a 0.025% water-based solution is used.

To disinfect instruments and equipment, alcohol solution (70 or 96%) can be used.

The transplants are sterilized with 0.025% solution.
