RBTON (RBTon) is used to treat iron deficiency anemia (IDA) or so-called. "Anemia". According to WHO statistics for 2000, about 800 million people in the world suffer from IDA or latent iron deficiency. The risk group includes small children, adolescents and women. The depletion of iron stores in the human body leads to a decrease in hemoglobin synthesis, which results in oxygen starvation of internal organs and tissues.

In the treatment of IDA with iron-containing drugs, a higher effect is observed than when eating a variety of foods "rich in iron" (apples, buckwheat porridge, liver, caviar, etc.). This is due to a more active absorption of iron due to the specially developed medical formula of such drugs.

Indications RBTON

Indications for use R.B.TON is, first of all, treatment of iron deficiency anemia of various etiologies, including anemia of pregnant women. The drug is effective for violations of iron absorption, long-term bleeding, chronic infectious diseases and malnutrition. Treatment with this drug is carried out through a complex effect on the body. As part of R.B.TON there are vitamins and trace elements, which normalize metabolic processes and hematopoiesis.

Release form

R.B.TON, like many modern medical products, has a different dosage.

Form release - capsules in blisters for 15 (1 x 15) and 150 (10 x 15) pieces. The country of origin is India (pharmaceutical company Medley Pharmaceuticals Limited).

"Capsule" is a gelatinous "case" that contains a medicine and is readily soluble in the human gastrointestinal tract. Capsule dosage form has in its composition 1/3 of a liquid or powdered drug. In other words, the capsule is a dispensed medical preparation consisting of a drug under the coating. It should be noted that encapsulation is considered the most modern form of release of the drug. In general, the production of capsular preparations is the prerogative of the largest pharmaceutical companies. The great advantage of encapsulation before tableting is the absence, in addition to the main active components, of binding agents that are most often of chemical origin. In tablets, such components are present for better compression of the drug into a tablet form.

Pharmacodynamics

RBTON is a combined preparation, which, in addition to the main component - iron, contains vitamins and trace elements. In combination, they provide effective action, quickly eliminating iron deficiency, resulting in a regression of laboratory and clinical anemia.

Pharmacodynamics RBTON consists in the process of compensating for iron deficiency, the main purpose of which is to promote the normal formation of hemoglobin as a result of erythrocytopoiesis (formation of erythrocytes).

Vitamins of group B (B1, B2, B5, B6 and B12) take an active part in the processes of metabolism of fats, proteins and carbohydrates, as well as many reactions of biological oxidation. In addition, they are important for the emergence of vital enzymes. Vitamin B12 is very important for the multiplication of cells, the synthesis of the nucleoprotein, hematopoiesis.

Vitamin C improves the absorption of elemental iron, and also participates in the metabolism of folic acid, which protects the body from the negative effects of teratogenic factors, which is especially important during pregnancy.

Zinc plays the role of cofactor and is necessary for the normal synthesis of DNA and RNA. It is important in the synthesis of many hormones, proteins, and also favorably affects the development of reproductive organs, the activity of the pituitary gland and gonadotropic hormones.

Pharmacokinetics

R.B.TON has a complex effect on the human body for the purpose of treatment and prevention of iron deficiency.

The pharmacokinetics of RBTON have not been studied to date. It should be noted that the essence of pharmacokinetics determines such reactions as absorption of the drug, its distribution in organs, tissues, cells, fluids, as well as metabolism and excretion from the body.

Pharmacokinetics includes such components as the chemical composition and the main properties of the active substance of a particular preparation; features of the course of the disease and hereditary characteristics of the patient; dosage form. Since RBTON is available in capsular form, it can be assumed that its absorption by the gastrointestinal organs occurs rather quickly, as well as distribution in organs and tissues. This is facilitated by the optimal combination of active ingredients of the drug.

Pharmacokinetic properties of the drug determine the duration of its action, as well as the half-life of the organism, i.e. Time allocated for purification of blood plasma from the drug by 50%. For the implementation of pharmacokinetics, an important condition is their penetration through cell membranes.

Dosing and administration

R.B.TON is used in modern medicine to treat iron deficiency anemia of different etiologies, including anemia of pregnant women. The length of the period of treatment with the drug, as well as its dosage, depend on several factors and, first of all, on the severity of the anemia. After the examination of the patient, the physician prescribes the optimal course of treatment, taking into account the results of medical tests, the patient's condition and the features of the disease course. It is also important to pay attention to contraindications when taking this medication.

Dosage and administration of the drug R.B.TON: per oral 1 capsule per day for an hour before meals. This dosage is equally suitable for both adults and children aged 12 years. In more severe cases of anemia, the dose of the drug may be increased to 2 capsules per day (1 capsule in the morning and evening hours, respectively).

The duration of the treatment course depends on the sensitivity of the organism to the drug. If the patient has side effects, you should consult a doctor. Usually, such symptoms are temporary, with an overdose it is recommended to reduce the dose of the drug. In general, the dynamics of the disease are taken into account - it determines the dosage of the drug.

Use RBTON during pregnancy

R.B.TON is widely used in the treatment of iron deficiency (anemia) in pregnant women. It prevents violations of fetal development, hypoxia and premature birth. This effect is achieved due to the balanced composition of the drug, which is matched to the needs of the future mother and the small organism that forms in her womb. In the composition of the drug R.B.TON, ascorbic acid, iron gluconate, B vitamins (B1, B2, B6, B12), calcium phosphate, folic acid, nicotinamide, calcium pantothenate, zinc sulfate are harmoniously combined.

The use of RBTON during pregnancy is aimed at effectively suppressing iron deficiency. The main component of the drug - iron gluconate - completely compensates for the lack of iron, which repeatedly confirmed the laboratory and clinical indicators. Thus, as a result of treatment in pregnant women iron deficiency is compensated, blood indices improve, signs of tissue hypoxia and edema disappear. The fetus starts to get enough oxygen and nutrients.

Thanks to the reception of R.B.TON, the main complications caused by IDA (iron deficiency anemia) can be avoided: gestosis, abortion, delay in fetal development, arterial hypotension, premature placental abruption, premature birth, birth of a child with low body weight.

Replenishing the iron deficiency in the future mother by taking the drug R.B.TON, you can avoid serious deviations in the development of the brain and immune system of the fetus, which can cause a shortage of iron, and in the neonatal period - to prevent the risk of infectious diseases.

Contraindications

R.B.TON is well tolerated by patients, but before starting treatment it is important to take into account factors that indicate contraindications to the use of this drug.

Contraindications to the application RBTON:

  • increased sensitivity of the patient to iron gluconate, as well as to any component of the drug;
  • hemochromatosis (the process of violation of iron metabolism in the body);
  • hemosiderosis (a process caused by excess deposition of hemosiderin - iron-containing pigment, in the tissues of the body);
  • hemolytic anemia (the process of destruction of erythrocytes, which can cause jaundice, anemia (anemia), splenomegaly (enlarged spleen), as well as intensive staining of the feces and urine of the patient due to the entry of hemoglobin conversion products into them);
  • age up to 12 years.

Thus, in order to avoid the occurrence of complications during the administration of the drug R.B.TON, it is necessary to carefully examine the patient for the possible presence of concomitant disease states, which, in combination with the intake of an iron-containing preparation, can cause various disorders and malfunctions in the operation of internal organs. Owing to the excessive accumulation of iron in tissues and organs, joints and skin are most often affected, the functions of the heart, liver, pituitary gland, pancreas are disrupted.

Side effects RBTON

R.B.TON is a highly effective agent for iron replenishment in the body and complex treatment of anemia. However, like any other medications, this remedy can have side effects that cause undesirable effects in their use, both in therapeutic doses and in excess of therapeutic dosages. In the latter case, side effects are considered toxic.

The most common side effects of RBTON:

  • the taste of bitterness in the mouth;
  • allergic reactions (itching, rashes on the skin);
  • discomfort in the abdomen;
  • nausea and vomiting;
  • diarrhea or constipation;
  • heartburn;
  • dizziness;
  • headache;
  • a feeling of tightness behind the sternum;
  • pain in the throat;
  • general weakness, malaise;
  • anaphylactic shock.

When taking this medication, you need to take into account that iron gluconate can also provoke the blackening of emptying. Typically, the occurrence of side effects of the medical drug R.B.TON is sudden and passing.

What are the side effects of drugs? First of all, their specific activity and chemical nature, as well as the characteristics of the reaction of the body to the effect of a particular drug.

Overdose

R.B.TON must be taken on a strictly prescribed by the doctor scheme, not exceeding the dosage in order to avoid complications. Excessive saturation of the body with iron is undesirable for the patient and can lead to the appearance of unpleasant, and sometimes dangerous, conditions.

An overdose of the drug can cause symptoms such as:

  • nausea and vomiting;
  • abdominal pain;
  • diarrhea (possible with an admixture of blood);
  • constipation;
  • headache;
  • weakness and dizziness;
  • excitation;
  • paresthesia (impaired sensation);
  • hypotension;
  • cardiopalmus.

The use of high doses of the drug R.B.TON can provoke fogging of consciousness, the occurrence of seizures, fever, as well as the development of renal or hepatic necrosis, in severe cases - coma.

When an overdose of the drug requires specific therapy in the form of gastric lavage, milk intake. If there is a significant increase in ferritin in the blood serum, it is necessary to administer deferoxamine (a drug used for acute and chronic intoxication with iron) inside and parenterally (bypassing the digestive tract).

Unfortunately, in case of an overdose, hemodialysis is not effective, it will not help in excretion of iron from the body, but can be considered as a method of removing the remaining components of the drug.

Interactions with other drugs

R.B.TON should be taken in accordance with the prescriptions of the attending physician. The correct intake of this drug gives effective results within a few days after the start of the admission.

When appointing R.B.TON, it is necessary to notify the doctor about the possible simultaneous administration of other medications, since their interaction may have a negative effect on treatment and only aggravate the situation. Especially dangerous is the simultaneous use of drugs that reduce the acidity of the stomach and promote absorption of iron.

Interactions of RBTON with other drugs:

  • Drugs, whose action is aimed at reducing the acidity of gastric juice, in particular, calcium preparations, antacids, as well as pancreatin and caffeine can reduce the absorption of RBTON. For this reason, it is necessary to monitor the interval between doses of these drugs. It should be at least 1-2 hours.
  • R.B.TON provokes a decrease in the absorption of penicillamine, tetracyclines, and also fluoroquinolones; therefore, these preparations must be taken 2 hours before or after taking RBTON.
  • With caution, it is necessary to combine the intake of RBTON and Ethanol. The latter contributes to the absorption of iron and thereby increases the risk of various toxic complications.

Storage conditions

R.B.TON must be stored according to the prescriptions of the annotation.

Storage conditions R.B.TON are indicated in the instructions for use: this product should be stored in a dry, dark place at a temperature of not more than 25 ° C. It is important that this place is not accessible to children.

The main factors that need to be considered when storing RBTON, as well as practically all medicines, are:

  • influence of light;
  • temperature regime;
  • contact with air;
  • humidity level;
  • availability of storage.

It must be remembered that the destruction of medicinal products is most rapid under the influence of direct sunlight. Therefore, the darkest place will be the best option for storage.

Capsules, like tablets, have hygroscopicity, so it's easy to get wet. For this reason, rooms with an unstable humidity level (for example, a bathroom, a garden veranda, an open balcony) are not suitable for their storage. In addition, it is important to store R.B.TON in the original packaging, hermetically sealed. In the open state, the drug reacts with oxygen and absorbs volatile substances. Evaporation of active substances of the preparation is also possible, especially when sunlight hits.

Shelf life

R.B.TON has its expiration date, which is specified in the annotation - 2 years. After this period, the drug should not be taken. This applies to all medicines. Do not take risks, even if the package is almost whole.

The shelf life is important, since many drugs lose their properties after a specified period and may even be dangerous to humans. Overdue drugs are a combination of components with unpredictable effects.

A printed vial of capsules and tablets is recommended to be stored for 1 year after opening in order to avoid the risk of gastrointestinal problems. According to experiments, in an open jar with a drug is often multiplies the E. Coli or staphylococcus.

It is important to consider the storage conditions of the medicine. So, capsules and tablets have properties to suck in moisture or, on the contrary, to shrink, which, in turn, affects their absorption by the body. Strictly following the instructions to the drug, you can avoid many problems and complications associated with improper admission.
