Cardazin has an effect at the level of cells, stabilizing the balance of energy within them during hypoxia, as well as preventing a decrease in ATP levels. At the same time, it maintains cell homeostasis, helping the healthy work of the ion channels of the cell walls and the movement of potassium ions through them.
By interfering with the metabolic processes and optimizing the use of oxygen in the event of myocardial ischemia, the drug retains the energy potential, preventing a decrease in the energy reserves of ATP inside the myocardial cells. [1]
Indications Kardazin
It is used in such situations:
- cardiology: prevention of the development of angina attacks (in monotherapy or in combination with antianginal substances);
- otorhinolaryngology: therapy in case of ischemic cochlear-vestibular disorders ( tinnitus, , dizziness and hearing loss);
- ophthalmology: chorioretinal disorders associated with ischemia.
Release form
The release of a therapeutic substance is realized in tablets - 10 pieces inside a cell pack, 3 packs inside a box; 30 pieces inside a blister pack, 2 packs inside a pack.
Pharmacodynamics
The drug selectively slows down the mitochondrial enzyme - the substance 3-CAT, as a result of which oxidation directed to fatty acids is weakened, and the conjugation of glycolysis and oxidative phosphorylation processes is restored. All this leads to an increase in myocardial resistance to ischemia - due to the rationalization of the use of oxygen.
The drug helps to maintain ATP and cAMP levels inside brain cells, supports the activity of hepatocytic mitochondria, and at the same time eliminates the negative effects of free radicals - weakening the severity of lipid peroxidation and increasing the potential of the protective antioxidant system. [2]
In people with angina pectoris, the medication increases exercise tolerance, while not changing the heart rate, and also reduces the number of angina attacks. [3]
In otorhinolaryngology, the medication increases the tolerance of vestibular tests, removes ear noise, improves hearing, and also effectively reduces the duration, severity and frequency of dizziness attacks in the case of Ménière's morbus or dizziness of a vascular nature. In persons with the perceptual type of deafness, the range of perception in dB increases, and auditory dysfunctions are also weakened.
In people with vascular lesions of a chorioretinal nature, the drug helps to restore the activity of the retina, due to which the electroretinogram readings are stabilized and the visual field and acuity improve - due to positive anatomical changes. As a result, the functional signs of retinal lesions diminish (especially with macular degeneration in the elderly).
Pharmacokinetics
The medication is fully and at high speed absorbed inside the gastrointestinal tract. Plasma Cmax reaches less than after 120 minutes; they are equal to 55 mg / ml with a single application of 20 mg of the drug.
The bioavailability level is above 85%. Reaches stable values after about 24-36 hours with repeated use; indicators are maintained during the entire treatment cycle.
In vitro protein synthesis is approximately 16%. The substance participates well in tissue distribution. The distribution volume is 4.8 l / kg.
Excretion is mainly realized through the kidneys, while 51% is in an unchanged state. Half-life is approximately 6 hours; for elderly people (over 65 years old) - 12 hours.
Eating food does not alter the pharmacokinetics of the drug.
Dosing and administration
The medicine is taken orally - 1 tablet 2-3 times a day, along with food; you need to drink it with plain water. For a day, you can enter in the range of 40-60 mg of the drug. The duration of therapy is selected by the doctor, taking into account the course and severity of the pathology.
