Inflarax has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and analgesic activity.

Contains the component amikacin, which is a semi-artificial antibiotic from the aminoglycoside subgroup; has a wide range of therapeutic effects. Demonstrates bactericidal effect - it passes through the walls of microbial cells, after which it is irreversibly synthesized with the 30S-ribosomal subunit of bacteria. In addition, the medicinal element also inhibits the binding of the protein that is the causative agent of infection. [1]

Indications Inflarax

It is used in such situations:

  • in surgery: therapy of purulent wounds, during the 1st stage (purulent-necrotic) of the development of the lesion, in order to prevent suppuration on the surface and in the depth of the wound. It is also used in case of postoperative complications (wound suppuration, fistula, phlegmon or abscess associated with operations);
  • in combustiology: therapy and prevention of suppuration of burns ;
  • in dermatology: therapy in the case of the development of epidermal lesions that have a purulent-inflammatory nature ( pyoderma ).

Release form

The release of the medication is sold in the form of an ointment - in tubes with a volume of 15, 25, 50 or 100 g.

Pharmacodynamics

The drug has an intense effect on gram-negative aerobes: Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa serrations, Enterobacteriaceae, Salmonella, Shigella, Stewart's Providence and Klebsiella.

Demonstrates activity against individual gram-positive microbes: staphylococci (among them strains that are resistant to methicillin with penicillin, as well as individual cephalosporins) and individual streptococcal strains. [2]

Has no effect on anaerobes.

Benzalkonium Cl has a wide range of antimicrobial effects against gram-negative and -positive bacteria, including Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, as well as staphylococci. The principle of therapeutic effect is based on the synthesis of a substance with ribosomes, as a result of which there is an irreversible suppression of protein binding. The medicine is fixed in the area of the cytoplasmic bacterial walls, destroying them; as a result, the cell begins to lose amino acids with potassium ions, as well as nucleotides.

Nimesulide demonstrates anti-inflammatory (inhibits the stage of inflammation, reducing the activity of inflammatory mediators, and also strengthens the walls of blood vessels) and analgesic effect (reduces tissue swelling, which leads to pain relief). [3]

Lidocaine slows down the sensitive neuronal receptors of the mucous membranes and epidermis, resulting in a reverse suppression of conduction through the tissue components of nerve cells (axon with neuron and synapses). The substance inhibits a temporary increase in the permeability for the passage of sodium ions, stimulated by an irritant, and, in addition, less actively, reduces passive instability under the action of sodium and potassium ions, which makes it possible to normalize the neuronal walls.

Lidocaine reduces the intensity of depolarization (response to a physiological stimulus), and with it the amplitude of the influence potential. It also inhibits the processes of neural conduction. Lidocaine, absorbed when used locally, can lead to depression or arousal from the central nervous system. The impact on CVS develops in the form of a violation of conduction processes, as well as peripheral vasodilation.

Polyethylene oxide, which is a water-soluble ointment base, potentiates and prolongs the anti-inflammatory and antibacterial activity of drugs, demonstrating an intense and long-term osmotic effect. As a result, the use of Inflarax allows you to eliminate perifocal edema and cleanse the wound from purulent-necrotic particles. The drug effect lasts from 20 to 24 hours.

Dosing and administration

The affected areas should be treated with a thin layer of ointment, 1-2 times a day. You can also use sterile gauze wipes - soak them with the preparation, and then apply them to the wound surface. The required volume of the substance is selected taking into account the severity of pus exudation and the size of the wound. You need to apply the ointment so that it covers the affected area completely.

In the case of treatment of purulent wounds and epidermal lesions of a purulent-inflammatory form, Inflarax is used daily.

During burns, the ointment is applied daily or 2-3 times a week (depending on the volume of pus secreted).

The selection of the duration of the therapeutic cycle is made personally, taking into account the effectiveness of the drug and the size of the affected area. It is necessary to make dressings using an ointment until the wound is completely cleared of necrotic particles and pus.

  • Application for children

There is no information available regarding the medicinal efficacy and safety of Inflarax in pediatrics.

Use Inflarax during pregnancy

There is no information regarding the safety of using the ointment during breastfeeding or pregnancy.

Contraindications

The main contraindications:

  • severe intolerance, provoked by the influence of elements of the drug or local amide anesthetics;
  • eczema or psoriasis;
  • fungal epidermal lesions;
  • prescribing to persons who have aspirin or other drugs that slow down the binding of PG, cause the appearance of allergic symptoms (including urticaria, runny nose, or bronchial spasm).

Side effects Inflarax

Side effects include: local and allergic symptoms (including itching, swelling, epidermal rash, desquamation, erythema and heartburn), as well as photosensitivity. Occasionally, people with intolerance may experience anaphylactic symptoms, including vasomotor rhinitis, dyspnea, Quincke's edema, and bronchial spasm.

When using the medicine in accordance with the recommendations and instructions, systemic disorders appear very rarely, because the volumes of the active element that can enter the bloodstream are extremely small. The use of large portions, a high rate of absorption of lidocaine or hypersensitivity of the patient, weakening of tolerance and idiosyncrasy can lead to the appearance of negative effects characteristic of local amide anesthetics used systemically.

Interactions with other drugs

After local processing, the interaction of the drug with other drugs was not observed. But at the same time, it should be taken into account that when amikacin is combined with benzylpenicillin, carbenicillin, and also cephalosporins, mutual potentiation of therapeutic activity can occur. Nimesulide enhances the effect of substances that reduce blood clotting, and sulfonamides; lidocaine - bupivacaine with novocaine.

Care is needed when using medication with digoxin, lithium agents, anticoagulants, antihypertensive drugs, phenytoin, methotrexate, as well as NSAIDs, antiarrhythmic and antidiabetic substances. Local application of several NSAIDs at the same time can provoke local irritation - redness or peeling of the epidermis and urticaria.

Anti-inflammatory drugs (aminoquinolones with gold drugs) and GCS potentiate the anti-inflammatory activity of nimesulide.

Benzalkonium Cl has no chemical compatibility with soap, other anionic surfactants and iodine substances. In this case, non-ionic surfactants weaken or completely eliminate the antimicrobial effect of benzalkonium Cl.

Storage conditions

Inflarax should be kept out of the reach of small children. Temperature indicators are within the 25 ° C mark.

Shelf life

Inflarax can be used for a 2-year term from the date of manufacture of the medicinal substance.

Analogs

The analogues of the drug are Levosin and Gentaksan with Fastin.
