Alora belongs to the subgroup of drugs with sedative and hypnotic effects. The drug reduces mental stress and anxiety, helps to improve mood in depression, has a mild hypnotic effect without signs of depression upon awakening. It has an anti-convulsive effect.
Passionflower extract is contained in the medicinal plant passionflower incarnata, which includes 0.04% indole alkaloids (harmine with harman and harmol), individual flavonoids (quertecin with vitexin), and in addition quinones with coumarins, etc. [1]
Indications Alora
It is used as a sedative in people with depression and neurasthenia, with nervousness, stress, sleep disorders, anxiety, menopause and during the premenopausal period.
It is prescribed for the treatment of signs of NS pathology (hyperhidrosis, NCD, palpitations, cerebral vascular crises and primary hypertension) and in case of post-infectious asthenia.
Release form
The release of the drug substance is realized in the form of a syrup, inside a bottle with a capacity of 0.1 liters. Inside the pack - 1 such bottle complete with a dosing spoon.
Pharmacodynamics
The elements of the extract slow down the processes of conducting neural impulses inside the brain and spinal cord, weaken the excitability of the central nervous system and lead to the development of a sedative effect. [2]
Dosing and administration
To achieve sedation, an adult needs to take 1-2 teaspoons of medicinal syrup (5-10 ml), 3 times a day, before eating. For sleep disorders - 2 teaspoons (10 ml) before bedtime.
For a child over 3 years old - ½ teaspoon (2.5 ml), 2-3 times a day.
The duration of the therapeutic course is personally selected by the doctor, taking into account the medicinal effect of the medication and the indications.
- Application for children
Alora is not assigned to persons under 3 years of age. For a child aged 3-12 years, syrup is used only with the permission of a doctor.
Use Alora during pregnancy
There is no information on the therapeutic effect and safety of drugs when used during hepatitis B and pregnancy.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated to use in case of severe intolerance to medicinal elements.
Side effects Alora
The main side signs:
- problems with digestive function: vomiting or nausea;
- violations associated with the work of the CVS: bradycardia, tachycardia and ventricular tachycardia;
- disorders of NS activity: drowsiness or dizziness;
- immune lesions: allergy symptoms (may be delayed), including vasculitis.
Overdose
Potentiation of side symptoms may be noted.
In case of poisoning, it is necessary to perform gastric lavage and perform symptomatic actions.
Interactions with other drugs
The use of Alora together with drugs that suppress the activity of the central nervous system (among them tranquilizers and barbiturates) leads to the potentiation of its hypnotic and sedative effect.
It is forbidden to combine the drug with benzodiazepines, as well as with disulfiram.
During the period of therapy, alcohol should not be consumed.
Storage conditions
Alora should be kept out of the reach of small children. Temperature indicators - no more than 25 ° С.
Shelf life
Alora can be used for a period of 36 months from the date of sale of the medicinal substance. The shelf life of an opened bottle is 0.5 years.
