Allergodil has antiallergic and antihistamine effect.

After instilling the medicine into the nose, the congestion is relieved, and the volume of nasal secretions and the frequency of sneezing also decrease. The weakening of the manifestations of the disease is observed after 15 minutes from the moment of using the drug; the therapeutic effect lasts for a period of 12+ hours. [1]

In the case of eye instillation, an additional anti-inflammatory effect develops. The systemic effect when used locally is weak.

Indications Allergodil

The nasal spray is used for disorders such as seasonal or non-seasonal runny nose (allergic nature) and vasomotor rhinitis.

Eye drops are used in such cases:

  • seasonal form of conjunctivitis , which is of an allergic nature;
  • eye inflammations of various nature (also post-traumatic);
  • an allergic form of conjunctivitis of a year-round nature.

Release form

The release of drugs is made in the form of 0.05% eye drops - inside a bottle equipped with a dropper, with a volume of 6 or 10 ml.

In addition, it is realized in the form of a nasal spray, equipped with a dispenser-spray, inside 10 ml vials.

Pharmacodynamics

The drug selectively blocks the activity of H1-endings.

It has a membrane stabilizing and antihistamine effect, strengthens the strength of capillaries, and in addition prevents the release of active elements (leukotrienes, histamine and serotonin) that cause bronchial spasms and allergy symptoms from mast cells. [2]

Pharmacokinetics

After nasal administration, the level of bioavailability of the drug is 40%. Over a period of 2-3 hours, the blood index of the drug reaches Cmax values, which are 8 times less than the level recorded after the experimental oral intake. In persons with a runny nose of allergic origin, the Allergodil indicator exceeds the values observed in a healthy person.

When using eye drops (4-fold application of 1 drop), the plasma level of the drug is extremely low.

Dosing and administration

Schemes for using a nasal spray.

The spray bottle is equipped with a spray dispenser, which greatly simplifies its use. Before the first injection procedure, the medicine should be sprayed into the air. It is necessary to inject the required portion of the spray into each of the nostrils, while keeping the head straight.

With rhinoconjunctivitis and allergic rhinitis: for children over 6 years of age and adults, use 1 portion (1 spray) in each of the nostrils, in the morning and also in the evening. For persons over 12 years old, the dosage can be increased up to the introduction of 2 servings of the drug 2 times a day. The drug should be used until the signs of the disease disappear. Allergodil can be used for a long time, but in continuous mode - a maximum of 5-6 months.

With a runny nose of a vasomotor nature: for a child over 12 years old and an adult, it is required to administer 2 portions of drugs into each of the nostrils 2 times a day. The medicine is also used until the manifestations of pathology disappear. The duration of continuous therapy for this disease can be a maximum of 2 months.

Schemes for the use of eye drops.

The medication is instilled into the conjunctival eye sac.

With an allergic form of conjunctivitis of a seasonal nature: for a child over 4 years old and an adult, 1 drop of drug is required in both eyes 2 times a day (in the morning and in the evening). If required, the medicine can be used up to 4 times per day. With this pathology, the medicine can be used exclusively for prophylaxis.

For the treatment of an allergic form of non-seasonal conjunctivitis, a child from 12 years old and an adult need to instill 1 drop of the medication in each eye 2 times a day. Per day, it is allowed to apply a dosage in the amount of 1 drop up to 4 times.

  • Application for children

The medication in the form of a spray is not used in persons under the age of 6, and drops are not used in persons under the age of 4.

Use Allergodil during pregnancy

It is forbidden to use the medicine during pregnancy.

Contraindications

Among the contraindications:

  • severe sensitization to the drug of its constituent elements;
  • period of breastfeeding;
  • nasal spray should not be used if kidney function is insufficient.

Side effects Allergodil

When using drops, the following side signs may be observed:

  • swelling, irritation, redness, increased tearing, itching and pain in the eye area;
  • feeling of a foreign object and hemorrhage in the eye area;
  • dryness of the ocular mucosa, visual disturbance and blepharitis;
  • systemic manifestations are occasionally observed - problems with defecation and difficulty in the respiratory process.

The use of a spray can provoke such violations:

  • itching or burning and bleeding from the nose, as well as sneezing;
  • in the case of using the medicine with the head thrown back and the penetration of the substance into the nasopharynx area, nausea may occur;
  • epidermal itching and rash;
  • gastralgia and xerostomia;
  • dizziness and feeling of weakness;
  • a feeling of tightness in the sternum.

Interactions with other drugs

The drug potentiates the sedative effect of substances that suppress the activity of the central nervous system, and ethyl alcohol.

The combination with cimetidine increases the plasma parameters of the active component of Allergodil, and with ketoconazole, on the contrary, decreases them.

Storage conditions

Allergodil should be kept at a temperature between 8-25 ° C. It is forbidden to freeze the medication.

Shelf life

Allergodil can be used for a period of 36 months from the date of manufacture of the pharmaceutical product.
