Alkodesis ic has detoxification, anti-alcohol and hepatoprotective activity. It activates the activity of intrahepatic enzymes, which are participants in the metabolic processes of ethanol (ADH with ALDH), which makes it possible to increase the rate of excretion of acetaldehyde with ethanol from the body by weakening their toxic properties.
The drug increases the resistance of hepatocytes against the products of lipid peroxidation, which develops under the influence of various toxic elements, including ethanol. Prevents accumulation of fats inside hepatocytes, due to which there is no fatty intrahepatic infiltration. Together with this, the medication prevents the formation of collagen with fibronectin and slows down the development of hepatic cirrhosis. [1]
Release form
The release of a drug element is made in tablets - 4 pieces inside a cell pack (1 pack inside a box) or 10 pieces inside a blister pack (2 packs inside a pack).
Pharmacodynamics
The drug activates the activity of the GABA and cholinergic neurotransmitter structures, which improves mental performance and the functioning of short memory. Prevents the development of motor arousal associated with ethyl alcohol.
Alkodesis ic has a nonspecific anxiolytic and antidepressant effect, and in addition weaken the craving for alcohol. Reduces the period of relief of abstinence, and at the same time weakens the somatic and mental symptoms associated with a hangover.
Pharmacokinetics
Metadoxin is absorbed at high speed, entering the gastrointestinal tract, with high bioavailability values (60-80%). Indicators of protein synthesis - 50%.
Metabolic processes are carried out inside the liver; in this case, metabolic elements with medicinal activity are formed - pyridoxine with pyrrolidone carboxylate.
The half-life of metadoxin after oral or parenteral administration is 40-60 minutes. Urinary excretion of metadoxin is 45-50% and occurs within a 24-hour period. With feces, 35-50% of the drug is excreted in 96 hours.
Dosing and administration
The medication is taken orally.
To weaken the toxic effect of alcoholic beverages: taking 2 tablets 0.5-1 hour before drinking alcoholic substances or 1 tablet 0.5-1 hour before and another 1 tablet within half an hour after drinking alcohol.
In the case of an active phase of alcohol poisoning (moderate or mild intensity) or alcohol withdrawal: 1 tablet 2 times a day 15-30 minutes before a meal. The daily dosage can also be increased to 3 tablets. The therapeutic cycle lasts 3-7 days (taking into account the patient's condition).
During the combined treatment of hepatic pathologies or the chronic stage of alcoholism: 1 tablet 2 times a day, 15-30 minutes before eating. A maximum of 3 tablets of drugs are allowed per day. Such treatment should last at least 1.5 months.

It is forbidden to use the medication in pediatrics, because for this age subcategory there is no experience with the use of drugs.
