Neo-bronhol is a mucolytic with expectorant effects.
It stimulates the activity of serous cells located in the area of the bronchial mucous membrane, thereby increasing the volume of mucous secretions and changing the imbalance of serous and mucous elements inside the sputum. As a result, activation of the action of hydrolyzing enzymes and potentiation of lysosomal release from Clara cells is carried out. Such effects can significantly reduce the viscosity of sputum.
Indications Neo-bronchola
It is used in case of damage to the respiratory tract, in which the formation and secretion of viscous sputum is observed (a chronic variety of bronchitis in combination with bronchoobstructive treatment, BA, as well as bronchiectasis).

Release form
The release of drugs is implemented in the form of lozenges - 10 pieces inside the cell bundle. In the package - 2 such packs.
Pharmacodynamics
The active element of the drug is Ambroxol, which increases the volume of surfactant inside the lungs. This occurs in connection with the strengthening of its binding and secretion inside the alveolar pneumocytes, and in addition to the violation of the processes of its decay.
Ambroxol increases mucociliary sputum movement, which makes cough a little easier.
Pharmacokinetics
With oral administration of drugs, Ambroxol is almost completely absorbed inside the gastrointestinal tract. Inside the blood plasma, Cmax values are observed after approximately 0.5-3 hours. The medicine does not accumulate. Synthesis with plasma protein is 90%.
After parenteral or oral administration, Ambroxol is distributed at high speed inside the tissues (the highest rates are noted inside the lungs). The drug can overcome the BBB and the placenta, as well as be secreted with mother's milk.
Conjugation provides intrahepatic metabolic processes of drugs. At the same time formed metabolic components that do not have therapeutic activity.
The term half-life of a drug is approximately 7-12 hours. Ambroxol excretion is realized through the kidneys (by 90% in the form of a metabolic element, and also by approximately 5% in an unchanged state).
Persons with severe chronic renal failure have significant prolongation of the term half-life.

Dosing and administration
Pastilles are required to slowly dissolve. For the age group of 6-12 years, the dosage size is 1-lozenge 2-3 times per day (30-45 mg of the drug). Adolescents as young as 12 years old and adults need to take 2 lozenges of medication 3 times a day during the first 2-3 days (90 mg of substance per day).
At times when it is required (from the doctor’s appointment), the dose of the medicine can be increased - taking 2 lozenges 4 times a day.
Without the appointment of Dr. Neo-bronhol, you can take a maximum of 4-5 days. If further treatment is required, you should consult a physician.
Use Neo-bronchola during pregnancy
Neo-Bronhol cannot be taken during the 1st trimester. In the 2-3rd trimester, it is allowed to prescribe it only after the evaluation by the attending doctor of all possible risks and benefits.
Because Ambroxol is excreted with breast milk, breastfeeding should be stopped for the period of therapy.
Contraindications
The main contraindications:
- ulcers affecting the gastrointestinal tract;
- having a diverse nature of convulsive syndrome;
- severe intolerance associated with ambroxol or additional components of the drug.
The drug is used with extreme caution in case of severe stages of pathologies affecting the kidneys or the liver - in such cases, reduced dosages are introduced or the time interval between drug intake is prolonged.
Side effects Neo-bronchola
The main adverse symptoms that occur during therapy:
- immune disorders: occasionally there are signs of intolerance (rash or itching, urticaria and angioedema);
- lesions associated with the gastrointestinal tract: sometimes there is nausea, pain in the abdomen, vomiting or diarrhea;
- systemic manifestations: fever, weakness and headaches.
Overdose
The use of high dosages of ambroxol did not lead to signs of poisoning. Occasionally, short arousal and diarrhea were recorded.
With extreme intoxication, the following manifestations occur: emetic urge and vomiting, hypersalivation, and a decrease in blood pressure.
Symptomatic actions are carried out. There is no need to carry out urgent measures (induction of vomiting and gastric lavage), such schemes are used only in case of extreme overdose.
Interactions with other drugs
With the introduction of drugs together with antitussive substances weakening of cough leads to a complication of sputum discharge, because of which this combination is used only with strict indications.
Ambroxol can increase the indicators of antibiotics (amoxicillin with erythromycin, as well as cefuroxime) inside the bronchopulmonary secretions and sputum, potentiating their passage into the secreted secretion.
Shelf life
Neo-bronhol can be used for a 3-year term from the date of manufacture of the therapeutic agent.
Application for children
The medicament is not prescribed to persons younger than 6 years due to high levels of ambroxol in it.
Analogs
Analogues of the medication are Bronhorus, Mukobron, Ambrobene and Halixol with Ambrolor, and also Lazolvan, Diflegmin, Ambroxol and Flavamed with Ambrosan. In addition, Ambrolan, Remebrox, Bronchoxol and Lazongin are on the list.
