Ledibon has estrogen-progestin therapeutic activity.

Indications Ledibona

It is used to compensate for the lack of estrogen during postmenopause. It is also used to prevent bone fractures or  osteoporosis in postmenopausal women (if other drugs prescribed to provide this effect are contraindicated).

Release form

The release of drugs is implemented in pill form, 28 pieces in each cellular packaging; in the box - 1 or 3 of these packages.

Pharmacodynamics

The drug is in the category of anabolic steroids. It has estrogen-progestin, and at the same time a minor androgenic effect. In the period of extinction of the ovaries, stabilizes the activity of the hypothalamic-pituitary system, and also reduces the production of gonadotropic hormones. When postmenopausal inhibits resorption affecting bone tissue, and reduces or eliminates the manifestations of menopause (flushing to the skin on the face, headaches, and hyperhidrosis).

It positively affects libido with mood, stimulates the vaginal mucosa, at the same time without leading to endometrial proliferation. Women who are in fertile age, inhibits ovulation. It reduces the serum values of calcium and phosphate with ions, and also prevents the occurrence of osteoporosis.

Pharmacokinetics

The drug is absorbed at high speed inside the gastrointestinal tract. The blood values of tibolone are quite low, because the substance undergoes rapid metabolism; accumulation of the component is not observed. With metabolism, therapeutically active metabolic products are formed.

Excretion is made with feces and in small quantities with urine (in the form of sulfated metabolic products).

Dosing and administration

Before starting treatment, it is required to exclude the presence of malignant tumors in the reproductive system (especially if the patient has bleeding).

Acceptance of tablets begins with the top row of the plate, with a pill marked with a suitable day of the week, and then taking into account the days of the week, until the end of the package.

The medication is used every day (recommended at the same time), on the 1st tablet per day. It is necessary to swallow it whole, and drink it with plain water, if necessary. For older women, dosage change is not necessary. You can use the drug at least 1 year after the last menstruation occurred. If this condition is not met, the likelihood of irregular bleeding or bleeding from the vagina increases. With menopause caused by surgery, the use of the drug should be started immediately.

Therapy of post-menopausal manifestations is recommended to begin with the minimum effective portion. It is necessary to take medication for at least 3 months.

To switch to tibolone from the course use of HRT means should immediately upon completion of the previous treatment regimen (the next day); if the transition is made from a continuous therapeutic cycle with the introduction of complex HRT drugs, you can start using Ledibon on any of the days.

When skipping the use of drugs (with the condition of the duration of the interval of less than 12 hours), this dosage is required to take as quickly as possible. If the 12-hour interval is exceeded, this technique should be skipped, and a new batch should be consumed in standard time. It should be borne in mind that frequent misses of medication increase the likelihood of bloody discharge from the vagina.

It is also necessary to take into account that Ledibon is not a contraceptive.
