Fescetam is a group of nootropic drugs with psychostimulating activity. Contains elements of piracetam and cinnarizine.
A complex therapeutic agent has a pronounced antihypoxic effect. Each of its active constituent elements mutually enhances drug effects, which are aimed at reducing vascular resistance. By combining therapeutic components, blood circulation within the brain is enhanced.
Indications Fescetama
Used in cases of blood flow disorders inside the brain:
- atherosclerosis affecting the cerebral vessels, against the background of which a stroke of ischemic nature is noted, or that occurs during follow-up treatment after the development of a hemorrhagic stroke;
- after TBI;
- disorders of mental activity, memory and concentration;
- mood disorders (feeling of irritability or depression);
- encephalopathy of diverse nature;
- labyrinthopathy of various genesis (ear noise, vomiting, dizziness, nausea and nystagmus);
- Meniere's disease;
- prevention of the development of kinetics;
- migraine prevention;
- improving memory and learning processes in mentally retarded children.
Release form
The release of the drug element is implemented in capsules - 10 pieces inside the cellular packaging. The pack contains 6 such packages.
Pharmacodynamics
Piracetam helps improve cholinergic, GABA-ergic and also glutamatergic neurotransmission. Along with this simplifies the process of transferring data between the cerebral hemispheres and within them. It also has anti-ischemic properties associated with effects on metabolic processes and rheological characteristics of blood.
Cinnarizine is a selective antagonist of the H1-terminations of histamine and calcium. It was revealed that it inhibits the movement of Ca ions through the cell walls, inhibits the influence of vasoconstrictor conductors (bradykinin and angiotensin with catecholamines) and has an insignificant vasodilating effect on peripheral, coronary and cerebral vessels. In addition, the substance during metabolic processes increases carbon monoxide inside the cerebral blood vessels and increases cellular resistance to hypoxia. Does not affect the pulse and blood pressure values.
Pharmacokinetics
Complex means is completely and at high speed absorbed inside the gastrointestinal tract.
Plasma Cmax indicators of cinnarizine are noted after 60 minutes from the moment of ingestion. Completely exposed to metabolic processes. With blood plasma protein synthesized by 91%. In an unchanged state with feces, 60% of the element is excreted, and the remainder is excreted in the urine in the form of metabolic components.
Cmax values of piracetam inside the plasma are noted after 2-6 hours. The element without complications passes through the BBB. Excretion of the unchanged component is made with urine.
Dosing and administration
It is necessary to use capsules orally, after meals; chew them do not need - swallow whole and drink plain water.
Adults use 1-2 capsules 3 times a day (taking into account the intensity of the pathology).
Children older than 5 years should take 1-2 capsules of the drug, 1-2 times per day.
The therapeutic course continues within 1-3 months, taking into account the severity of the disease. More than 3 months can not be taken.

Symptomatic interventions are carried out.
Interactions with other drugs
Combining with drugs that depress the work of the central nervous system, nootropics, alcoholic beverages and antihypertensive drugs can increase their sedative properties.
Vasodilating drugs potentiate the activity of Fescetam, while hypertensive drugs, on the contrary, reduce it.
The drug potentiates the effect of thyroid hormones, and besides it is capable of enhancing the effect of anticoagulants of indirect type of exposure.
Storage conditions
Fescetam must be kept in a place that is closed to children. Temperature values - not more than 25 ° С.
Shelf life
Fescetam is allowed to apply for a 3-year period from the date of manufacture of the drug.
Application for children
