Indications Horogon
It is used in the following conditions:
- eunuchoidism or cryptorchidism ;
- oligoasthenospermia;
- genital infantilism;
- testicular hypoplasia;
- dwarfism ;
- hypogenitalism;
- adiposhogenital dystrophy;
- the presence of the threat of spontaneous abortion;
- dysmenorrhoea;
- habitual miscarriage;
- Ovarian hyperstimulation with ART;
- deficiency of the corpus luteum;
- sterility caused by anovulation;
- hypofunction of gonads in women or men, caused by dysfunction of GHS.
Release form
The release of the drug is implemented in the form of a lyophilisate, dissolved for parenteral injection. Inside the pack contains 3 ampoules of powder.
Pharmacodynamics
The active ingredient of the drug is chorionic gonadotropin of natural origin, secreted from the urine of a pregnant woman. After receiving this component, it must be sterilized and cleaned. Its properties are similar to the properties of lutropin, secreted by the anterior pituitary lobe, but, at the same time, it differs in that it has a higher efficiency (due to a longer half-life).
In male patients, the drug stimulates the production of sex steroids (such as testosterone with estradiol, and in addition, 2-hydrotestosterone and 170H-progesterone) and the processes of spermatogenesis. In female patients, ovulation and the binding processes of estrogen and progesterone are stimulated. This drug increases blood cholesterol values.
Pharmacokinetics
The blood indices of Cmax of the substance are noted after 4-12 hours from the moment of the injection. The half-life is about 29-30 hours, and therefore, with daily injections, drug accumulation may occur. Excretion is done through the kidneys.
Dosing and administration
The resulting solution should be immediately administered to the patient through an intramuscular injection.
Boys and adult men in the case of a differential diagnosis of the presence of cryptorchidism, as well as anorchia, are required to administer 5,000 IU of medicine one time.
When hypogonadism, which has a hypogonadotropic nature, it is necessary to use within 1500-6000 IU substances 1 times per week, combining it with drugs that contain natural menopausal gonadotropins.
To speed up the process of puberty, you should use 1500 IU medications 2-3 times per week over a period of 90 days.
At the age of 2–6 years old, for the treatment of cryptorchidism, 500–2000 IU of Horagon are administered weekly for 5 weeks. At the age of 3-6 years, it is necessary to use 1500 IU of the drug 1-fold per week during the period of the 21st day.
Women, in order to maintain the activity of the yellow body of the ovaries, are required to inject 1500-5000 IU of medicine on the 3rd, 6th and 9th days after the onset of ovulation. To induce ovulation directly, 5,000 IU or 10,000 IU of drug are used.

Use Horogon during pregnancy
Prescribe medication during normal pregnancy or lactation is not necessary.
Contraindications
Among the contraindications:
- adrenal insufficiency;
- gynecological bleeding that develops for an unknown reason;
- the presence of non-polycystic cysts in the ovarian area;
- history of pregnancy (the period of the previous 3 months) ectopic pregnancy;
- provoked cryptorchid inguinal hernia;
- hypothyroidism;
- active thromboembolic disorders;
- early menopause;
- gonadal dysginesia;
- neoplasms in the pituitary gland;
- thrombophlebitis;
- obstruction of the fallopian tubes;
- hyperprolactinemia;
- the presence of neoplasms, depending on the level of androgens;
- the presence of intolerance against chorionic gonadotropin and mannitol;
- ovarian carcinoma.
Side effects Horogon
The use of the medication may lead to the following side effects:
- the formation of antibodies against chorionic gonadotropin (with prolonged use of drugs);
- changes in behavior;
- urticaria, acne, puffiness;
- generalized allergy symptoms;
- gynecomastia;
- inhibition of the synthetic activity of the pituitary gland;
- erection;
- depression condition;
- an increase in the size of the testicles;
- increased nipple sensitivity;
- feeling of strong irritability or anxiety;
- asthenia or headaches;
- local pain after injection;
- hyperemia of local character.
Overdose
Overdose can provoke ovarian hyperstimulation.
Therapeutic procedures are determined by the severity of the pathology. When the 2nd or 3rd stage of the disease requires mandatory hospitalization.
Storage conditions
Horagon is required to contain when the temperature indices constituting a maximum of 20 ° C. Dissolved medication should be used immediately, it is forbidden to store it.
Shelf life
Horagon can be used within 36 months from the date of release of the pharmaceutical agent.
Application for children
Horagon is prescribed to boys during the treatment of cryptorchidism - should begin after six months from the moment of birth.
