Kanospoh set is an antimycotic used to treat dermatological diseases.
Release form
The preparation is sold as an ointment for external treatment, in tubes having a volume of 10 g. The kit also contains a dispenser, 15 waterproof plasters and 1 scraper for nails.
Pharmacodynamics
The active ingredient of the drug, the substance bifonazole is a derivative of the imidazole component, which has a large range of antifungal effects. Demonstrates activity with respect to mold, yeast and other fungi, as well as dermatophytes.
Bifonazole inhibits the processes of biosynthesis of ergosterol at 2 separate levels, which differs from other azoles and fungicidal drugs, which have such an effect only on one level. The inhibition of ergosterol binding causes functional and structural disorders within the cytoplasmic walls of microbial pathogens.
The inhibitory effect on the activity of the described fungal forms shows the drug at rates of 0.062-16 μg / ml or lower. Bifonazole has a fungicidal effect against dermatophytes, among which microbes, leading to the development of trichophytosis. A full fungicidal effect develops at values of approximately 5 μg / ml, with an exposure of 6 hours. For yeast type fungi (Candida genus), at 4 μg / ml, bifonazole mainly exhibits a fungistatic effect, and at 20 μg / ml fungicidal.
The bifonazole element demonstrates the drug efficacy even in cases where the pathogens are resistant to other antimycotics. Only in the sensitive forms of fungi is primary resistance to bifonazole noted. When testing, there was no evidence of secondary stability in strains showing primary sensitivity.
Urea is a natural element contained in the human body; it helps soften the keratinized tissues. As a component of the ointment, it has a softening effect on the keratin of the affected nail, which makes it possible to get rid of the infected part with a painless, non-invasive method.
In vitro tests have demonstrated that urea increases the depth of passage of bifonazole inside the infected nail. This allows us to conclude that the combination of bifonazole with urea potentiates the antimycotic effect.
Dosing and administration
Treatment of an infected nail is necessary one-day for a day in an amount capable of covering its entire surface with a small layer. Procedures should be carried out daily, continuing them until the moment when the softened nail can be removed. Often it lasts 1-2 weeks (the more accurate duration depends on the thickness of the infected nail and the extent of the prevalence of the lesion).
The treatment of the nail is performed until the full cleansing of the bed (in general, it takes 7-14 days). If there is no result after this period (the nail bed does not get smoothness, and the affected areas of the nail can not be removed), it is necessary to consult a doctor.
Lubricated with an ointment paste with an adhesive patch applied for a day (24 hours); It must be replaced 1 time per day. After it is removed, fingers with infected nails are to be washed with warm water (the duration of this procedure is about 10 minutes), after which the softened part of the nail is removed with a scraper, and its residue is dried.
The skin around the affected nail is not necessary to cover with a band-aid. But, since irritation may sometimes occur in this area, it is necessary to treat the edges of the epidermis surrounding the nail, zinc paste or other local anti-inflammatory drug (before fixing the patch).
Ointment Kanospor set works exclusively on fungal infected nails, without affecting healthy areas.
When the affected nail is completely removed, before going on with antifungal therapy, you need to go to a doctor to diagnose the final end of onycholysis and clean the nail bed (if necessary).
After completely removing the infected nail, it is necessary to treat the nail bed with cream from the same set - 1x a day, for about 1 month.
Use Kanespora set during pregnancy
Conducted preclinical tests regarding drug safety, as well as drug pharmacokinetics studies show that bifonazole does not adversely affect a woman or a fetus when using Kaneospol kit in pregnant women. But still it is recommended to abandon the use of the drug in the first trimester.
There is no information whether bifonazole or urea can penetrate into the mother's milk. These pharmacodynamics, as well as toxicological information obtained from animal tests, demonstrate that bifonazole with its metabolic products is excreted with the mother's milk. Because of this, it is recommended to give up breastfeeding for the duration of therapy.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated to prescribe to people with an allergy regarding bifonazole or other medicamentous elements.
Side effects Kanespora set
Treatment of fungal lesions in the nail area can cause the appearance of tissue damage in the epidermis and subcutaneous layers - on the nail bed or along the edges from it. They appear in the form of maceration, dermatitis of contact nature, nail peeling, exfoliation of the epidermis, erythema, rash, discoloration of the nail, and in addition to skin irritation and pain. In addition, eczema, heat in the affected area, urticaria, cutaneous dryness, blisters and swelling with pain in the area of drug use may occur. Such side effects disappear after the end of therapy.
Interactions with other drugs
There is information that demonstrates that local bifonazole can interact with warfarin. As a result of this combination, INR increases and the likelihood of bleeding increases. Therefore, when using bifonazole by persons using warfarin, it is necessary to monitor the parameters of this parameter.
Storage conditions
Kanospor set should be kept in a place that is closed from penetration of small children. The temperature is not above 30 ° C.
Shelf life
Kanospore set is allowed to use within 36 months from the date of manufacture of the therapeutic agent. Shelf life of the opened tube is 90 days.
Application for children
The available clinical information allows us to conclude that the drug does not lead to the development of toxicity in children. But in this case, people aged 1-3 years are recommended to use the medicine solely under the supervision of a doctor.
Analogues
Analogues of the drug are Bifonal-Health, as well as Bifunal.
