Release form

Pharmacodynamics

Salicylic acid has the ability to eliminate horny layers that have arisen on the skin, and in addition to mitigating the epidermis - this effect is provided by a pronounced keratolytic effect. Also this substance helps betamethasone (the second active element of the drug) to penetrate into the skin. In addition, the component prevents the development of a microbial or fungal infection and stabilizes the level of physiological skin pH.

The element betamethasone has anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, antiexudative and anti-edematous properties, and is also a GCS. The component prevents the release of inflammatory conduits and lysosome enzymes, and in addition reduces the rate of accumulation of leukocytes and weakens the intensity of the local inflammatory process.

The active element prevents the formation of edemas that have an inflammatory nature, and in addition strengthens the strength of tissues and vessels, and suppresses the processes of phagocytosis.

Pharmacokinetics

The active substance betamethasone without problems passes through the stratum corneum deep into the skin. In this case, it does not pass through the body and therefore is not subjected to biotransformation processes. Use in areas with thin skin, injuries or intense inflammation can lead to partial absorption of the component.

A similar effect develops after prolonged use on extensive areas of the epidermis. Biotransformation takes place inside the liver. The drug is excreted through the kidneys - in an unmodified state, along with bile. Only small amounts of substance are excreted in the form of elements connected with glucuronic acid.

Dosing and administration

The drug is intended for external application. He can handle exceptionally affected areas, twice a day, rubbing the ointment with careful movements. If the disease occurs in an easy form, you can use the drug once a day. The attending physician can adjust the regimen of therapy.
