It is used to eliminate pain symptoms in people with diseases that affect ODA, and have a degenerative-inflammatory form.
Used for osteoarthritis and arthrosis. In addition, it is used in the combined treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and Bekhterev's disease.
Release form
The release of the drug is realized in tablet form (volume 7.5 or 15 mg), and in addition in injectable liquid and candles.
Tablets are distributed on blister plates, in an amount of 10 pieces. Inside the box there are 1-2 plates.
Rectal suppositories are packed in 5 pieces inside the blister, on the first blister inside the pack.
Injection liquid - in ampoules with a capacity of 1.5 mg. Inside the box there are 5 such ampoules.
Pharmacodynamics
The drug has a strong antipyretic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity. The effect of drugs is due to the fact that its active element is able to suppress the function of COX-2. Because of this, there is a decrease in the binding of pro-inflammatory cytokines acting as mediators of inflammatory processes. There is almost no effect on the activity of COX-1. Also, suppression of the binding of cytoprotective GH and thromboxane is not registered.
The use of medicines relieves pain and reduces the intensity of inflammation in diseases associated with the work of the ODA. At the same time, Revmoxicam does not affect the function of chondrocytes (for example, on the binding of an element of proteoglycan).
Pharmacokinetics
When ingested meloxicam is well absorbed inside the gastrointestinal tract, demonstrating a bioavailability index of 89%. The use of food does not affect the degree of absorption of drugs.
On the 3-5th day from the start of therapy, a stable indicator of meloxicam within the body is recorded (it does not matter what form of drugs to use). Synthesis with the intraplasma protein is 99%, and the meloxicam values within the synovia are 50% of its plasma indices.
The component undergoes a full metabolism inside the liver, transforming into inactive decay products. The half-life is 20 hours. Excretion of the substance is carried out by the intestines and kidneys (in approximately equal parts). Meloksikam can pass through the BBB and the histiocytic barrier.
