Indications of the omarone
It is used to eliminate pathologies in the central nervous system, against which the development of intellectual-mnestic disorders:
- encephalopathy due to poisoning or trauma;
- insufficiency of cerebrospinal circulation (this includes vascular atherosclerosis, and in addition, the recovery period after a previously cured stroke, which is ischemic or hemorrhagic);
- state of depression;
- the child's mental retardation;
- violations of the function of the vestibular apparatus;
- an organic defect, often accompanied by symptoms of asthenia and adynamia;
- Meniere's disease;
- for the prevention of migraine attacks, and in addition kinetosis - both in adults and in children.
Release form
Release of the medication is carried out in tablets, 30, 60 or 90 pieces inside the box.
Pharmacodynamics
Piracetam, which is one of the constituent elements of the drug, potentiates the processes of protein and energy metabolism, increases the rate of utilization of glucose through cells, and besides, it strengthens their resistance to hypoxia, which allows the activation of the metabolic processes occurring inside the brain. Inside the central nervous system it has a positive effect on the process of transmission between nerves, and within the ischemic region improves the activity of the regional circulatory system.
The second active ingredient is cinnarizine, the selective blocker of slow Ca channels. It suppresses the influx of calcium ions into the cells and reduces their values inside the plasmolemma depot. In addition, it also reduces smooth muscle tone in the arteriolar region and inhibits their response to the activity of biogenic vasoconstrictor agents (such as epinephrine with norepinephrine, and in addition angiotensin and vasopressin with dopamine).
Omaron has a vasodilating effect (especially with respect to the cerebrospinal vessels), increases the antihypoxic effect of pyracetam, while also not having a significant effect on blood pressure.
The medicine has a moderate antihistamine effect, removes excitability in the area of the vestibular apparatus, and also reduces the tone of the sympathetic HC and positively affects the elasticity of the walls of red blood cells and strengthens their strength against deforming factors. Also, the drug improves blood viscosity.

Pharmacokinetics
After ingestion of piracetam completely and at a sufficiently high rate is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. The index of plasma Cmax is observed after 2-6 hours (inside the CSF after 2-8 hours). The drug has a 100% bioavailability level.
Omarone is not synthesized with a plasma protein, but is distributed within almost all organs with tissues, and also penetrates the placenta. Inside the cerebral cortex, it cumulates selectively - most remain in the region of the frontal, parietal, and occipital lobes, and also inside the cerebellum with basal ganglia.
Pyracetam is not subject to metabolic processes and after approximately 30 hours is excreted together with urine (more than 95%).
Inside the blood plasma, after 1-4 hours, Cmax of cinnarizine is noted. This element is synthesized with plasma proteins by 91%.
The metabolism of the substance is quite active and full. The time of its half-life is 4 hours.
The third part of the metabolic products is excreted through the kidneys, and the remainder through the intestine.
Dosing and administration
Tablets are used orally, concomitantly with food or immediately after it is taken.
For adults, the dosage is usually 1-2 tablets with a triple take for the day, in the 1-3 months period, taking into account the type of disease and the degree of its severity. Medical courses are allowed to be carried out 2-3 times a year.
Children over the age of 5 should use Omaron in the same dosage of 1-2 tablets, but one- or two-times per day. Such therapy is allowed to be performed during a maximum of 3 months.
To prevent the development of kinetosis, adult patients should consume 1-well tablets of drugs, and children - 0.5 tablets. Take medication should be for half an hour before the start of the proposed trip. Repeat this technique is allowed after 6-8 hours.
For the treatment of CRF (the level of CK is 20-80 ml / minute) should be taken on the 1st pill twice a day.
Use of the omarone during pregnancy
The medicine is not prescribed for pregnant or breast-feeding women.
Contraindications
The main contraindications:
- the presence of individual intolerance against piracetam with cinnarizine or other elements of the drug;
- hypolactasia and lactase insufficiency, and in addition malabsorption of glucose-galactose (due to the fact that the drug contains lactose);
- hepatic or renal (CC level below 20 ml / minute) disease in the severe stage;
- Parkinsonism;
- stroke of hemorrhagic nature;
- Huntington's chorea;
- an excitation that has a psychomotor nature.
Caution is required when appointing people with such impairments:
- CRF (KK - within the range of 20-80 ml / min);
- mild or moderate diseases in the kidney or liver;
- porphyria;
- increased values of IOP;
- hemostasis disorder;
- severe hemorrhage;
- affecting large areas of the body of the surgeries;
- seizures of epilepsy;
- thyrotoxicosis;
- the presence of a predisposition to the development of symptoms that have a neurotic etiology;
- atherosclerosis in the area of cerebral vessels.
Side effects of the omarone
The use of the drug may lead to the appearance of some side effects:
- disorders of the central nervous system and PNS: the inhibition of movement, a feeling of drowsiness or irritability, and in addition, the state of depression, asthenia and headaches. Occasionally, ataxia, insomnia, exacerbation of epileptic seizures, dizziness, tremor and increased libido are noted. Extrapyramidal disorders also develop, a feeling of excitement, imbalance or anxiety, impaired concentration and hallucinations;
- signs affecting the work of the CAS: a decrease or increase in the values of blood pressure;
- disorders of digestive activity: symptoms of dyspepsia and dryness of oral mucosa. Occasionally there is diarrhea, vomiting with nausea, intrahepatic cholestasis and abdominal pains;
- lesions affecting the epidermis: occasionally there is dermatitis, itching or rashes;
- signs of allergy: edema Quincke;
- other: weight gain and hyperhidrosis. Occasionally, there is red lichen planus or drug lupus.
Overdose
Because of the poisoning drug can develop a consciousness disorder, extrapyramidal disorders and vomiting, as well as decrease the index of blood pressure. If you take a dosage of pyracetam, which is 75 + g, a person may experience abdominal pain and bloody diarrhea.
Because Omaron does not have an antidote, the affected person needs to perform gastric lavage and prescribe the use of enterosorbents. Further, if necessary, conduct symptomatic and supportive activities.
The efficiency index of the hemodialysis procedure is about 50-60% (relative to piracetam).
Interactions with other drugs
Combination with drugs that suppress the activity of the central nervous system, ethyl alcohol, nootropic, and antihypertensive medications leads to a potentiation of their sedative properties.
The vasodilating drugs potentiate the effectiveness of the drug.
Omarone improves the tolerance of tricyclics, and besides this antipsychotics.
Pyracetam is able to increase the central effect of medications that affect thyroid hormones (tremor, sleep disorders, feelings of anxiety or irritability).
Combined use with oral anticoagulants helps to increase their therapeutic effectiveness.
Storage conditions
Omarone may be contained at temperature values of a maximum of 25 ° C.
Shelf life
Omarone is allowed to be used for 3 years from the date of manufacture of the medicinal product.
Application for children
Omaron is prohibited for children under the age of 5 years.
