Veloz is a preparation that slows the activity of a proton pump.
Indications of the veloza
It is used to eliminate pathologies in the gastrointestinal tract that develop under the influence of gastric juice: intestinal or gastric (peptic character) ulcers, hyperacid gastritis, gastrinoma, and functional dyspepsia.
Also used in the treatment of GERD and for the destruction of the microbe Helicobacter pylori (with combined therapy).
Release form
The release is made in tablets, in the amount of 10 pieces inside the strip. The box contains 2 or 3 such strips.

Pharmacodynamics
Component rabeprazole is included in the category of drugs, which slow down the function of the proton pump, it has an antisecretory effect and is an antiulcer substance.
Rabeprazole inhibits the action of the enzyme H + / K + -ATPase, slowing the release rate of gastric juice. The uncharged form of the drug passes through the walls of parietal glandulocytes, penetrating into the secretory tubules, where the processes of concentration and protonation of rabeprazole occur. Intracellular rearrangement of the active substance is also carried out within them, as a result of which cyclic sulfenamide is formed.
After this, a covalent SS compound is formed with the SH-category of the H + / K + pump, followed by its deceleration. The formed covalent compound does not change the severity of the medicinal effect, taking into account the level of rabeprazole.
Irreversible locking lasts up to 40 hours. After the lapse of the 1st hour, an acid-suppressive effect is noted. Stable suppression of secretory processes occurs after 72 hours. This function is restored after 48-72 hours after stopping the reception of rabeprazole.

Pharmacokinetics
The medicine is absorbed through the intestine. Peak values are noted after 3-4 hours after ingestion. The indices of the substance inside the blood are determined depending on the size of the portion. 97% of rabeprazole is synthesized with albumin.
Bioavailability indicators are 52%. These values do not increase in the case of an increase in the frequency of reception.
Metabolism occurs with the participation of the hemoprotein system P450. Half-life is 1.5 hours.
Pharmacological action lasts a maximum of 48 hours. Elimination occurs with the help of the hemoprotein system.

Dosing and administration
Medication is consumed inside without chewing on the pill and without violating the integrity of its shell - you need to swallow it whole. The use of drugs is not tied to the time of day, as well as to eating.
Elimination of GERD and peptic ulcers - the use of 20 mg LS twice a day. Duration of therapy:
- with JBW - about 2-8 weeks;
- with duodenal ulcer of PDK - approximately 0.5-1 month;
- with GERD - approximately 1-2 months.
The size of the maintenance dose for GERD is a one-time intake of 10-20 mg to 1 year.
Elimination of functional dyspepsia, and besides hyperacid gastritis - a one-time intake of 40 mg mg or a two-time intake of 20 mg per day for 2-3 weeks.
Therapy with gastrinoma - a one-time use for a day of 60 mg LS. If required, the size of the portion can be increased until the desired treatment result is achieved.
Destruction of the Helicobacter pylori bacterium - with combined treatment, a two-time intake of 20 mg of LS is prescribed together with an antimicrobial drug or a bismuth drug. Therapy lasts a maximum of 1 week.
Use of the veloza during pregnancy
Rabeprazole can not be given to nursing mothers or pregnant women, because it passes through the placenta and is partially excreted with the mother's milk.
Side effects of the veloza
The medication is well tolerated. Most often, its side effects are manifested in the form of disorders of stool, dyspepsia, intestinal flatulence and dryness of oral mucous membranes. Occasionally, there may be a change in the activity of the action of liver enzymes.
Sometimes there are headaches, a feeling of drowsiness and depression, there may also be a loss of consciousness.
Symptoms of allergy develop with hypersensitivity to the elements of drugs. They arise in the form of itching, rashes on the skin and spasm of the bronchi. If the patient has such signs, you need to cancel the reception of the Veloza.
Individual complaints appear on the development of complications such as pain in the sternum or back, myalgia, muscle cramps, hyperhidrosis, visual disorders, weight gain, pharyngitis, a decrease in platelet counts with leukocytes, and in addition, an infection in the urinary duct.
Overdose
Intoxication causes the following complications: nausea, vomiting, dry mouth mucosa, hyperhidrosis, sensation of drowsiness, headache, and loss of consciousness.
Specific antidote is absent, with the development of such manifestations it is required to perform symptomatic procedures.
Interactions with other drugs
It is forbidden to appoint rabeprazole with drugs that slow down the action of hemoprotein P450, because the metabolism of the drug occurs with the participation of this system.
Velosity by 33% reduces the level of ketoconazole, because of which the medicinal effect of the latter decreases.
The combination with dioxin potentiates its properties and prolongs the duration of the effect - due to an increase of 22% of its values inside the blood.
Rabeprazole affects the metabolism of cyclosporins.
The medication interacts with agents, the intensity of absorption of which depends on the pH of the stomach.
Shelf life
Veloz is allowed to be used for 2 years after the release of the drug.
