Zoxone is a remedy from the group of α1-adrenoblockers.

Indications of the zoixon

It is used to eliminate such violations:

  • hyperplasia of the prostate, having a benign character (with a strong increase in the values of blood pressure on its background, or without it);
  • increased blood pressure.

Release form

The drug is released in tablets with a volume of 1.2, as well as 4 mg, inside blister packs, 10 or 15 pieces each. Inside the box are 1-3, as well as 9 or 10 plates.

Pharmacodynamics

The active element of the drug is the selective blocker of α1-adrenergic receptors. It is used in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Treatment can significantly improve urodynamics, as well as reduce the severity of signs of pathology. The positive effect develops by blocking the α1-adrenergic receptors located inside the capsule, prostatic stroma, and in addition to the ureter's neck.

At the same time, the use of Zoxon helps to reduce the values of AD - the drug weakens the overall resistance inside the vessels of a peripheral nature.

Medicamentally significant antihypertensive effect of the drug reaches even after the application of a single daily dose, preserving its properties within 24 hours. Decrease in blood pressure level is carried out gradually. Maximum exposure is recorded after 2-6 hours from the time of the use of tablets.

The drug positively affects the lipid content of the blood, helping to lower triglycerides with cholesterol, which decreases the likelihood of developing coronary artery disease. It was revealed that the use of drugs reduces left ventricular cardiac hypertrophy, helping to suppress platelet aggregation and reduce the risk of blood clots.

When taking drugs, there is no negative effect on metabolic processes and important body systems. Because of this, the medicine is allowed to appoint elderly people, people with diabetes, gout, and bronchial asthma.

Pharmacokinetics

The drug is completely absorbed in the body through the digestive tract. When used together with food, absorption is inhibited (approximately 60 minutes). To achieve peak values of drugs within the blood plasma takes 1-2 hours.

Protein synthesis is approximately 98%. During the metabolic processes, inactive decay products are formed.

Excretion occurs in 2 stages - the drug is excreted in the form of metabolic products, as well as unchanged substance (a small part).

Dosing and administration

The medication is used orally, according to the first pill per day. It must be swallowed whole and washed down with plain water.

To treat benign hyperplasia of the prostate, against which there is no increase in blood pressure, should be taken in a daily dose of 2-4 mg. During the day, it is allowed to take no more than 8 mg of the drug.

To reduce the elevated blood pressure, the sizes of the portions are selected individually, taking into account the individual characteristics of the patient and the severity of the disease. Because of this, the size of the daily dosage can vary between 1-16 mg.

Usually, therapy begins with taking a daily dosage of 1 mg (it is recommended to take the drug in the evening, before going to bed, because after using it it takes 6-8 hours to lie down). Such an approach allows to prevent the development of the "1st dose phenomenon". If this dose is not enough to develop the medicinal effect, after 7-14 days of therapy it is allowed to increase the dose to 2 mg or more until the required result is achieved.

Many patients feel better after taking a daily dose of 8 mg. But it should be noted that the drug can not be taken in portions exceeding 16 mg. After achieving a sustainable drug exposure, it is required to gradually reduce the dosage amount, bringing it to 2-4 mg.

For many patients, the drug in a 4 mg dose is prescribed as maintenance treatment. The medication is taken by a long course, which is determined by the attending doctor.

Overdose

With intoxication, such a violation can develop, such as a decrease in blood pressure, against which fainting is noted.

To eliminate the disorder, it is first necessary to lay the injured person horizontally, slightly raising his legs slightly, and lowering his head. After this, gastric lavage is performed. It may also be prescribed to take activated charcoal and other symptomatic activities that are under the supervision of the doctor.

Interactions with other drugs

It was found that doxazosin can potentiate the antihypertensive properties of antihypertensive drugs. At the same time, the medicine is well combined with furosemide, diuretics of the thiazide type, antibiotics, β-adrenoblockers, drugs blocking the slow Ca channels, anticoagulants of indirect action, antidiabetic and uricosuric drugs.

The combination with drugs that induce microsome oxidation inside the liver can increase the effect of doxazosin. When combined with drug-inhibitors, the opposite effect is observed - a reduction in the effect.

Use together with NSAIDs (such as intomethacin), as well as sympathomimetics and estrogens, weakens the antihypertensive properties of Zoxon.

Reviews

Zoixon receives a fairly large number of different reviews. Most often, patients write that after using the drug, the condition improves significantly, although it is not possible to completely eliminate the developed disturbances with it.

Men who were treated with a drug from prostatitis underwent a complete therapeutic course, in which, in addition to Zoxon, there were additional medications as well as procedures. Such a scheme was quite effective, although the effect from it was sufficient only for a short period of time. After the end of therapy, all negative symptoms (increased frequency of urination and discomfort) gradually returned.

In the treatment of hypertension, a combined therapy regimen is often used that affects the function of CCC. The size of the portion and the mode of taking the drug are selected with great care, because in this case an individual approach is necessary.

Therapy using such drugs should be carried out very carefully. Begin the use of the medication only for the doctor's prescription, after passing all the necessary diagnostic tests. At the same time, during the therapy the patient must constantly visit his doctor for examination. This approach will ensure optimal adjustment of portions and treatment regimen, which determine the effectiveness of treatment.
