Indications Ingavirin

It is used to eliminate the following violations:

• therapy or prevention of influenza of type A or B;
• other acute respiratory viral infections (RSV infection, adenovirus infection and parainfluenza).

Release form

The drug is released in tablets of 30 or 90 mg. They are contained in blister strips, 7 pieces each. There is 1 such strip inside the box.

Pharmacodynamics

The main property of the drug is its antiviral effect. The medicine is active against the virus that causes influenza types A or B, and also against adenovirus and RS infection, as well as parainfluenza.

The anti-inflammatory effect of drugs develops through the suppression of the processes of production of inflammatory cytokines and a decrease in the activity of myeloperoxidase.

During flu, sore throat and other acute respiratory viral infections, the medicinal effect develops in the form of a reduction in the period of fever, a decrease in the severity of poisoning, as well as catarrhal symptoms. At the same time, as a result of using the medicine, the total number of complications decreases and the duration of the pathology is shortened.

Pharmacokinetics

The medicine is absorbed into the blood from the gastrointestinal tract quite quickly. It is also distributed at high speed inside the organs. Half an hour after the use of the medicine, its peak values are noted in the blood and organs.

It is not subject to metabolic processes within the body and is therefore excreted unchanged.

The main part (approximately 80%) of Ingavirin is excreted within 24 hours. At the same time, 77% of the drug is excreted through the intestines, and the remainder - by the kidneys.

Dosing and administration

The medication is taken orally, regardless of meal time.

Use of the drug to treat acute respiratory viral infections and flu.

For 5-7 days, you should take 90 mg of the drug once a day. It is recommended to start using the drug immediately after the onset of signs of the disease, and no later than 1.5 days after its onset.

Taking medications to prevent the development of acute respiratory viral infections or influenza.

Over the course of 7 days, it is necessary to take 90 mg of the medication once a day.

Before taking the medication, you should definitely consult with your doctor regarding the appropriateness of its use.

Ingavirin is used after the first signs of the disease appear. The entire course of therapy usually lasts at least 5 days.

Use Ingavirin during pregnancy

It is prohibited to use the drug during lactation or pregnancy.

If Ingavirin must be taken during breastfeeding, breastfeeding should be discontinued during treatment.

Contraindications

Ingavirin should not be taken if you are allergic to any of the components of the medication.
