Ointment, three components of which - benzocaine, nitrofural and syntomycin provide bacteriostatic activity and superficial analgesic effect.
Indications of the fastina
Used for external treatment of burn lesions of the І-ІІІ degree, fresh and complicated by purulent-inflammatory processes, infected wounds and eczema, accompanied by purulent exudation.
Release form
Tubes with ointment dosed to 25g, packed in cardboard boxes with an enclosed instruction manual.
Pharmacodynamics
The ability to stop the growth and development of pathogenic microbial flora is due to the presence in the ointment of the antibiotic chloramphenicol (synthomycin) and antiseptic nitrofural (furacilin).
After binding to the RNA of the exciter cell, the active component of the antibiotic depresses the enzymatic activity of the peptidyl transferase, which interrupts the synthesis of protein molecules in the sensitive pathogen cell. Synthomycin is active against most gram-positive and gram-negative cocci, intestinal and hemophilic rod, salmonella, shigella and spirochaetes, anaerobes and others.
Antiseptic nitrofural synergistically increases the activity of the previous component to most pyogenic bacteria, in addition, it is sensitized to some types of fungi. The pathogenesis of nitrofural is quite specific: when the 5-nitro group is restored by protein-enzymes of a pathogenic microorganism (flavoproteins), amines are formed that have a high reactive ability to bind to macromolecules, including microbial RNA, which leads to anomalies of the protein molecules of the pathogen cells and its death .
In addition, nitrofural stimulates the activity of the macrophage system of the body.
Resistance of microbes to the above substances develops very slowly.
Benzocaine provides a superficial analgesic effect of the ointment, preventing the appearance and carrying out of nerve impulses by increasing the strength of the cell membrane, thereby blocking the penetration of positive sodium ions. It also displaces positive calcium ions from the endings on the inner surface of the cell membrane. When applied to the wound, the action begins a minute later and lasts about a third of an hour.
Dosing and administration
With this tool, applications on the affected skin surface are performed. To do this, on the flap of a sterile bandage or gauze, squeeze out the necessary amount of ointment from the tube, distributing it in a thin layer. Then put a bandage on the affected area. Dressings are prescribed to be done at a frequency not more than once a week and at least once every ten days. If necessary (pain, rapid accumulation of exudate in the focus of inflammation and other cases), the bandage is changed more often.
At the age of 0-5 years, the ointment is used only as prescribed by the doctor.
Use of the fastina during pregnancy
The experience of using pregnant and lactating women is not available, therefore it is not recommended to use ointment in this period.
Contraindications
The patient has psoriatic and / or eczematous rashes, dermatomycosis, skin manifestations of allergy; in the anamnesis - sensitization to the components of the ointment. Neonatal period.
Side effects of the fastina
There is a possibility of development of hypersensitivity reactions, such as hives, including giant (Quincke's edema), itching, inflammation and skin irritation at the site of application.
Overdose
The consequence of exceeding the recommended dose may be an aggravation of side effects.
Interactions with other drugs
Information on the interaction of ointment components used externally with other medicinal substances is not available.
Storage conditions
Shelf life
2 years. Use at the latest on the date indicated on the package.
