Pharmacodynamics

Zinerite is a drug complex containing zinc and erythromycin. It has antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and also comedonolytic properties.

Erythromycin has a bacteriostatic effect on microbes that provoke acne: propionibacteria acne and epidermal staphylococcus.

Zinc reduces the secretory function of the sebaceous glands, and also has an astringent effect.

Pharmacokinetics

Due to the complex connection between the elements of the drug, its active components penetrate well into the skin.

Synthesis of zinc is mainly carried out with follicular epithelium, and the substance itself does not penetrate into the circulatory system.

A small amount of erythromycin is systematically distributed inside the body, and then excreted from it.

Dosing and administration

Before starting the procedure for applying the solution, it is necessary to pour the solvent from the B-vial into the A-vial, where the powder is contained. Then you need to shake the bottle (enough for about 1 minute) to dissolve the powder, and then close it with a lid that has an applicator.

A ready-made solution is treated on the face or only areas where acne is observed. At each such procedure, approximately 0.5 ml of the drug is usually used.

Zinerit is applied as follows - it is necessary to tilt the bottle with the applicator in the direction of the skin, and then start rubbing the skin, slightly pressing on the bottle. The amount of squeezed out solution depends on the pressure of the bottle.

Dose sizes: the procedure is required twice a day, usually in a period of about 10-12 weeks.

A marked drug effect is often observed during the first 12 weeks. In the absence of noticeable improvements after this period of time (or vice versa, if the condition worsens), it is necessary to consult a doctor. He will conduct an examination, helping to determine the reliability of the microflora of bacteria. If such resistance is detected, it will be necessary to abandon the use of drugs for the next 2 months.

Use of the zinerite during pregnancy

Information obtained with the use of Zineritis in pregnant women did not show a negative effect of erythromycin on the course of pregnancy and fetus. Therefore, the medicine is allowed to be given to pregnant women.

Because only a small part of erythromycin is excreted in breast milk, the medicine is allowed to be used while breastfeeding.

Contraindications

Among the contraindications: increased sensitivity to erythromycin or other macrolides, and in addition to zinc, ethyl alcohol and diisopropyl sebacate. It is also forbidden to use children under the age of 12 years.

Reviews

Zinerite as a means to eliminate blackheads gets quite good reviews - mainly its impact people evaluate as positive. Among other things, the speed of action of the drug is noted (especially when compared with ointments, as well as anti-acne gels of the previous generation), the convenience of using the solution (the special applicator that comes with the drug helps), and the absence of severe adverse reactions.

Among the most significant negative actions of drugs, patients distinguish that it dries the skin after application, which is why people who have a dry type of skin, most likely, will have to abandon its use. It is also often noted that bacteria quickly develop resistance against the erythromycin component - with a regular application of the solution, this reaction may well occur. Negative factors are also considered such as the price of Zinerite and the fact that the finished solution has a very short shelf life - a maximum of 5 weeks.

But, if you evaluate the medicine as a whole, then the reviews about it still outweigh the positive, so many dermatologists recommend using it to eliminate acne.
