Nazonex in adenoids in children is one of the drugs that is used today as a drug of choice. The effectiveness of this tool is studied in many studies and is proved in practice. To explain the effect of the drug, it is important to know the mechanism of its action and indications.

What are adenoids and how does it work?

Adenoids are a chronic disease characterized by an increase in the pharyngeal tonsil, which leads to a complicated nasal breathing and other similar symptoms. This condition constantly worries the child and in viral infections the amygdala increases even more, which disrupts the normal breathing of the child. The amygdala is an accumulation of lymphoid tissue that reacts to an infectious agent and is part of the local immune defense of the body. Influence on the immune system of the child is very difficult, therefore treatment of adenoids always caused difficulties.

To date, the treatment of adenoids is recommended to begin with intranasal corticosteroids. To explain the decrease in adenoids under the influence of these drugs, several mechanisms are proposed: direct lympholytic action, suppression of inflammation with reduction of concomitant edema of adenoids, and also indirect influence on the nature of adenoid microflora. It has now been proven that intranasal corticosteroids can reduce the symptoms of adenoids, regardless of the atopic status of the child. And even if the child does not have allergic rhinitis, the use of such treatment can reduce the degree of hypertrophy of the pharyngeal tonsil.

For the purpose of such local treatment, many intranasal hormonal preparations can be used, one of which is Nazonex. The mechanism of action of this drug in adenoids is to reduce edema and reduce sensitization of the pharyngeal tonsil. This leads to a decrease in its activity and, correspondingly, to a decrease in its size.
