Release form

Belosalik lotion - solution in vials of 50-100 ml (with a dropper or nozzle for spraying) - only for external use.

Pharmacodynamics

The therapeutic effect of Belosalik lotion is provided by its active components - the synthetic homon of the adrenal cortex (corticosteroid) betamethasone in the form of dipropionate and salicylic (2-hydroxybenzoic) acid.

Betamethasone with external application promotes the removal of inflammatory, allergic and hyperproliferative skin reaction by binding to cell receptors and their DNA, which increases the synthesis of the lipocortin protein that inhibits the activity of the intracellular enzyme phospholipase A2. A further mechanism consists in blocking the release of arachidonic and lysophosphatidic acids and subsequent modification of their cyclooxygenases (COX 1 and COX 2) into active compounds - anti-inflammatory and inflammatory mediators (eicosanoids, prostaglandins, leukotrienes).

In addition, glucocorticosteroids (GCS), including betamethasone dipropionate, inhibit the synthesis of T- and B-lymphocytes, tissue immunoglobulins (IgE and IgG), and also reduce the yield of histamine from mast cells, which alleviates the symptoms of an allergic reaction.

Salicylic acid in the composition of Belosalik lotion acts as an antiseptic and keratolytic, that is, does not allow the infection to develop and soften the keratinized skin particles.

Pharmacokinetics

A small amount of betamethasone in the lotion Belosalik enters the bloodstream and binds to proteins; biotransformation of GCS occurs in the liver, and metabolites are excreted in the urine and feces.

Dosing and administration

Belosalik lotion is used externally by spraying the solution on the inflamed areas of the scalp skin - once or twice during the day.

The maximum duration of use should not exceed three consecutive weeks.

Manufacturers warn about the inadmissibility of getting the drug in the eyes, on the mucous membranes and genitals.
