Naxojin is a derivative of nitroimidazole. Used for amebic dysentery, as well as other protozoal infections.
Indications of the naxojina
It is indicated for the elimination of infectious processes provoked by the vaginal trichomonas, and also in the treatment of amoebic dysentery, giardiasis, vaginitis (provoked gardnerella vaginalis), and acute form of gingivitis Vincent.
Release form
Produced in tablets, 6 pieces inside the bottle. One package contains 1 bottle of pills.
Pharmacodynamics
The drug is a chemotherapeutic agent that destroys the vaginal Trichomonas and the rest of the simplest microbes (such as intestinal lamblia, Lamblia intestinalis and dysentery amoeba). In addition, Naxojin works on the following anaerobes: bacteroidids fraigilis and gardnerella vaginalis.
The minimum level of trichomonasic effect varies in the range of 0.3-3 μg / ml.
Pharmacokinetics
The drug has a high absorption rate after oral administration.
With a triple intake of 1 g of drugs (3 consecutive use with an interval of 12 hours), the level of the substance in the body reaches 16 μg / ml 3 hours after the first dose. After 25 hours, this figure is 28 μg / ml, and after the last use it is 7.5 μg / ml.
Excretion of the active ingredient mainly occurs in the kidneys. Inside the vaginal discharge and urine, the level of the substance and its major degradation products is several times greater than the trichomonocidal concentration.
With a three-time use of drugs at a dose of 1 g (three doses at intervals of 12 hours), the medication within the vaginal discharge, which was determined on the 24th, 48th, and 72nd hour, was 129, 95 , as well as the 4th mkg / g.

The medicine is consumed inside, immediately after a meal.
With trichomoniasis, the adult dosage is 2 g (or 4 tablets) in one dose, immediately after a meal. Also, the dosage can be distributed 3 times per day (with an interval of 12 hours) to 1 g (2 tablets) or 3 times 250 mg (0.5 tablets each). Duration of treatment - 5-7 days. Children's dosage is 15 mg / kg in 3 doses per day (the period of therapy lasts 5-7 days).
With amoebic dysentery, the adult dose is 500 mg 2 times a day for 5-10 days. The children's dose is 20 mg / kg per day in two doses in the period of 5-10 days.
With giardiasis, the adult dose is 500 mg (1st pill) with admission 2 times a day in the period of 5-7 days. Children's doses are 15 mg / kg with two doses per day for 5-7 days.

In the acute form of Vincent's gingivitis, the size of the adult dose is equal to the first pill (500 mg) 2 times per day in the period of 2 days.
