The basis of the pathogenesis of psoriasis is a failure in differentiation and division of skin cells, as well as a violation of local and general metabolism. This happens for a number of reasons, which have not yet been fully understood. Since vitamins are direct participants in metabolic processes, their full presence in the body is simply necessary. For this reason, vitamins for psoriasis are prescribed in combination with general treatment: this approach allows to combat the disease more successfully.

Indications of the vitamins for psoriasis

Psoriasis is a chronic disease, so it is not just possible to take vitamins with psoriasis, but it is also very necessary. Useful vitamin components will help to strengthen the skin layers and appendages of the skin, and also improve the metabolism, which is disturbed in the pathology process.

Vitamins in psoriasis make their own adjustments to the biochemical reactions that occur inside the body. It is necessary to take them not chaotically, but strictly according to the prescription of the doctor, since improper or excessive use of such drugs can worsen the course of the disease.

With a light course of psoriasis, there may be enough vitamins that enter the body with food. If the doctor deems necessary, he will prescribe complex or separate vitamin preparations.

So what vitamins to drink with psoriasis?

All the vitamins recommended for use in psoriasis can be divided into two categories:

  1. Vitamins from a number of fat-soluble, including lecithin, retinol (Vit. A), tocopherol (Vit. E), cholecalciferol (Vit. D).
  2. Vitamins from a number of water-soluble: vitamins gr. B, vitamin C, folic acid.

Release form

  • The most convenient and common form of release of vitamins for psoriasis patients are pills. They are simple and easy to take, and their shelf life is usually the longest.
  • An alternative to convenient tablets are capsules - as a rule, fat-soluble vitamins are produced in capsules.
  • Powdery form - no less convenient, but rarely used form of vitamin preparations.
  • Solutions for oral and injectable use: available in ampoules and flakonchikah, sometimes - together with a solvent.

Names of essential vitamins for psoriasis

Vitamins for psoriasis are prescribed according to different treatment regimens. In severe cases, injection of drugs is possible, in relatively light - oral administration. The standard treatment course lasts no less than a month: besides this, in addition to vitamins in capsules, tablets or injections, a vitamin-enriched diet should be observed.

Vitamin D in psoriasis will be of real benefit, since it has the following properties:

  • accelerates the healing of tissues affected by psoriasis;
  • improves calcium and phosphorus metabolism;
  • improves the assimilation of trace elements;
  • in combination with other vitamins helps to strengthen immunity.

Patients can take vitamin D with psoriasis inside, or use as external ointments (for example, locally can be applied Calcipotriol).

Vitamin D is synthesized inside the body under the influence of UV. In addition, this substance contains:

  • in milk, butter;
  • in sea fish;
  • in oatmeal;
  • in vegetable oils;
  • in the egg yolks.
  • Vitamins of group B in psoriasis are prescribed only by a doctor, since the dosage of such vitamins is difficult to determine independently.
    • Vitamin B1 helps to correct exchange reactions, to adjust the function of the nervous system, to activate the endocrine processes and the efficiency of brain cells. Vitamin B1 can be obtained with products. There is a lot of it in meat, liver, nuts and seeds, cereals.
    • Vitamin B2 in psoriasis not only stimulates metabolism, but also helps tissues to be renewed and restored. Usually vitamin B2 is prescribed intramuscularly, however, a large amount of it can also be obtained from products: mushrooms, white meat, cottage cheese and hard cheeses.
    • Vitamin B6 in psoriasis is especially useful. Its main abilities are stimulation of lipid and amino acid metabolic processes, activation of the synthesis of hormones and improvement of the quality of hemoglobin, restoration of nerve cells. In addition, vitamin B6 removes excess cholesterol from the circulation. Vitamin can be used as intramuscular injections, as well as with food: nuts, fish, white meat.
    • Vitamin B12 in psoriasis performs a number of important functions: it helps the course of blood-forming processes, stabilizes the nervous system, improves liver function. Typically, vitamin B12 is given injectively in combination with calcium gluconate. Additionally, useful substances can be obtained from meat products and liver, or from fish.
  • Vitamin E in psoriasis is simply indispensable:
    • it is considered a natural antioxidant;
    • improves oxygen supply of tissues;
    • accelerates the restoration of skin.

Standard intake of vitamin E - inside, 300-400 IU. It is recommended to combine vitamins E and A.

Additional amount of vitamin E can come with food: with nuts, berries, dried fruits, vegetable oils, fish, cereals.

Ointments with vitamin D for psoriasis

Outer preparations with vitamins are very common. They are applied directly to the lesions affected by psoriasis.

Such preparations include ointments with vitamin D "Daivonex" and "Psorkutan", represented by the active ingredient calcipotriol - a synthetic analogue of natural vitamin D3. These ointments suppress the proliferation of keratinocytes and accelerate their morphological differentiation - namely this property is considered the main one in the treatment of psoriasis.

Calcipotriol has a lesser effect on calcium metabolism, unlike vitamin D3. Ointments are applied to the skin in the morning and at night. The effect is detected during 10-12 days of treatment.

Ointments with vitamin D are not compatible on one skin site with drugs containing salicylic acid.

Vitamin A for psoriasis of the nails externally

Vitamin A can be used not only inside, but also externally - in the form of applications and creams, which increases its benefits several times. Because of its molecular weight, vitamin A is able to penetrate well into the underlying epidermal layers, which contributes to the accelerated recovery of tissue.

Retinol is a part of many cosmetic and therapeutic creams and ointments. This vitamin substance replenishes the collagen stores in the skin and promotes its regeneration.

Vitamin A in the form of an oily solution can be purchased at an ordinary pharmacy. Applications with vitamin for psoriasis are applied regularly for 1-2 months, with a further break of 2-3 months. This course of treatment will achieve excellent results: the nails will be cleaned, the skin will be tightened and smoothed out.

Continuing to practice external application of vitamin A can not: overabundance of the substance is harmful to the body and can even cause an allergic reaction.

Complex course of vitamins for psoriasis

In any pharmacy pharmacists can offer complex vitamin preparations for patients with psoriasis. The most accessible and popular are three varieties of vitamin complexes.

  • Vitamin Revit in psoriasis is a qualitative combination of B vitamins, ascorbic acid and retinol. This complex helps to strengthen immune protection, regulate the course of basic metabolism, improve blood circulation in tissues.

Revit with psoriasis is taken twice a day - in the morning after breakfast and in the evening after dinner, 2 tablets. If there are side effects - heart rhythm disturbances, indigestion, nausea, worsening of the skin on the hands - then the dose is recommended to be lowered. If there is an allergy to the vitamins that make up the drug, you should not take it.

  • Decamevitum in psoriasis helps to stabilize the production of hormones, accelerate metabolic processes, which directly affects the quality of healing of psoriatic rashes. Decamewith is a full complex of vitamins necessary for fighting psoriasis: it's vitamins gr. B, vitamins A and E, ascorbic and folic acid, nicotinamide, rutin and methionine. The course of treatment consists of one month, during which it is recommended to take 1-2 tablets of the drug daily, during breakfast. If during treatment there are suspicious rashes or redness of the skin, then the drug should be stopped.
  • Undevit vitamins have a complex effect in psoriasis. The composition of the drug is rutozid and nicotinamide, ascorbic acid, vitamins gr. B, A and E.

The optimal daily amount of Undevit in psoriasis is 1-2 tablets at breakfast time. Do not start treatment with the drug, if there are severe liver or kidney disease, or an allergy to the listed vitamins.

  • Aevit is considered one of the most common vitamin preparations that are prescribed for psoriasis. It can be taken for a relatively long time - up to 2-3 months. Aevit is represented by vitamins A and E, which are the main vitamins in psoriasis, as they improve local blood circulation and improve the condition of the skin. The optimal amount of the drug is 1-2 capsules daily.

Pharmacodynamics

The complex combination of vitamin nutrients allows to provide all the need of a person suffering from psoriasis. Vitamins in psoriasis directly have a positive effect on the processes of tissue metabolism and strengthen the general and local immunity.

Retinol (in A) improves fat metabolism and the reactions of cross fat oxidation, and also potentiates the metabolism of substances that participate in the structuring of epithelial tissues.

B-group vitamins eliminate signs of inflammation and tissue degeneration, increase blood circulation, stabilize neuronal function and general acid-base balance, take part in all metabolic processes.

Ascorbic acid is an active participant in oxidative and regenerative biological processes. Vitamin C directly affects the production of collagen and the formation of cell structure, the amount of hemoglobin in the blood, the quality of erythrocytes, the biological synthesis of catecholamines. Ascorbic acid deactivates the negative effects of free radicals, protects the cell membranes from the harmful effects of cross-oxidation processes.

Tocopherol - a vitamin to maintain the youth of the skin and appendages, restores the tissues elasticity and hydration.

Pharmacokinetics

Metabolic transformation of retinol occurs in the liver, after that the substance is released into the blood serum. Transportation occurs due to globulins and prealbumins, which prevents the filtration of the drug by the kidneys.

Thiamin (B1) is digested in the duodenum and small intestine. Distribution in tissues is good. The process of phosphorylation of thiamine is observed in the liver, and in the urinary fluid it is detected only in the residual version.

Riboflavin (B2) is absorbed into the small intestine. Its phospholination to the active state is observed in the intestinal walls, the liver and inside the erythrocytes. About 9% of the accepted amount of riboflavin is found in the urinary fluid.

Ascorbic acid is absorbed in the intestinal cavity. The assimilated vitamin is transported by plasma and accumulates in the glandular tissues. The level of ascorbic acid in tissues and blood cells is many times higher than the level of the drug in the blood serum.

Dosing and administration

As a rule, vitamins for psoriasis are taken immediately after a meal, or 10-15 minutes after it. Dosage is determined depending on the specific preparation and on average is 2 tablets (pills) daily.

The duration of the therapeutic course of vitamins in psoriasis is determined by the doctor and on average is 1-2 months. The daily amount of the drug can be increased, or reduced, according to the recommendation of the attending physician.

Use of the vitamins for psoriasis during pregnancy

Pregnant women need to beware of both the lack of vitamins in the body, and its overabundance. Both that, and another, can extremely negatively be reflected in a status of a fruit and on health of the future kid.

To take usual vitamin complexes during pregnancy is not recommended - unless the doctor insists on their admission. As a rule, for pregnant and lactating women, special vitamin preparations are provided, the dosages of which are selected in accordance with this physiological period. These drugs include Vitrum Prenatal, Vitrum Prenatal Forte, Elevit Pronatal and the like.

The intake of any vitamins in psoriasis during pregnancy, including those permitted, must necessarily be agreed with the doctor.

Contraindications

Vitamins for psoriasis should not be taken:

  • at high probability of development of an allergy to a vitamin preparation;
  • with severe damage to the kidneys and liver;
  • when diagnosed with hypervitaminosis, vitamins that are part of a multivitamin complex.

Side effects of the vitamins for psoriasis

In cases of individual hypersensitivity, it is possible to develop an allergic reaction to vitamins. Such a reaction is manifested as:

  • skin rash;
  • redness of the skin;
  • swelling of the skin;
  • increased itching.

If any of these symptoms appear, then the intake of vitamins should be discontinued and consult a doctor.

Sometimes it is possible to stain urine in an intensely yellow color - this is considered normal and does not require the withdrawal of a vitamin remedy.
