Diseases of the digestive system, including banal stomach disorders, accompanied by nausea and diarrhea, are considered one of the most common health pathologies in the adult population of our planet. But this does not mean that babies have no such problems. But adult medications are hardly suitable for them, and children's homeopathic drug "Gastrokind" will help small patients to avoid unpleasant sensations after eating.
Indications Gastrokind
The drug was created specifically for use in pediatrics. Apply it to treat various digestive disorders in toddlers. The age of patients varies from 1 to 6 years, but there is an opinion that it can be given without fear to newborns and infants after preliminary consultation with the pediatrician and homeopath.
"Gastrokind" is designed to relieve unpleasant symptoms, such as stools, flatulence and pain in the tummy of babies, which can be caused by two reasons:
- due to a violation of diet,
- as a result of a change in the type of food (the transition from breastfeeding to infant formula, the replacement of the nutritional formula for another, the introduction of complementary foods).
The drug is effective and with functional disorders of the digestive system in children, which are accompanied by nausea, sometimes with attacks of vomiting, more often diarrhea, less often constipation.
Release form
"Gastrokind" is a drug developed on the basis of homeopathic remedies effective for violations of the gastrointestinal tract. It is a multi-component homeopathic drug, but all its components are safe for small patients, and the dilutions are chosen in such a way as to bring maximum benefit with minimum limitations.
The preparation contains 4 main homeopathic components, which are active substances of the drug:
- Okoubaka aubrevillei (a remedy made from the bark of a West African tropical tree, effective for diarrhea) in breeding D4.
- Croton tiglium (tincture of a seed from a milch family called croton, used to relieve various symptoms of digestive disorders, including pain and abdominal discomfort, belching, nausea and vomiting, has a laxative effect) in the potency of D6.
- Arsenic album ("white metal", safe in small concentrations, which is prescribed for various pathologies of the gastrointestinal tract due to antiseptic, antibacterial, analgesic and anti-allergic action) in D6 dilution.
- Veratrum album (tincture from the roots of the crook, reducing pain in the epigastric region and dyspepsia, normalizing stool) in the potency of D12.
All the active ingredients are taken in the amount of 20 mg, some of them contain lactose. As auxiliary elements, talc (a source of magnesium and silicon), monocrystalline cellulose (ideal for purifying the body and improving the functioning of the intestine), magnesium stearate (for facilitating the mixing of substances and shaping tablets) are used.
Form of issue. The preparation is issued in the form of flat-cylindrical homeopathic tablets of white color with a facet on all perimeter. Tablets are packaged in jars (bottles) made of dark glass. In each bottle, placed a separate cardboard package, contains 150 tablets.
A large number of tablets in the package is due to the fact that "Gastrokind", like any homeopathic, should be taken in large quantities: from 4 to 6 tablets per day. And if you consider that the problems with the tummy in babies are quite often, and the shelf life of the drug is considerable, such packaging is considered optimal in pediatric practice.
Pharmacodynamics
The main pharmacological properties of the drug are due to the main homeopathic and auxiliary components that make up the product.
The drug normalizes the work of the gastrointestinal tract, effectively fights with the pain syndrome in the abdominal region (abdominal pains), regulates stools with diarrhea or constipation, relieves such unpleasant symptoms as bloating due to increased gas formation, eructation, nausea and vomiting.
Monocrystalline cellulose prepares the digestive tract for better absorption of the beneficial components of the tablets, and talc contributes to the replenishment of the mineral substances lost during vomiting and diarrhea.

Pharmacokinetics
Data on the pharmacokinetics of "Gastrokind" in the instructions to the drug are absent. This is due to the fact that in multi-component preparations it is practically impossible to trace the movement along the digestive tract of each component and the processes occurring with it. The removal of the drug from the body will also be translational.
Dosing and administration
According to the official instruction, children aged 1-6 years with acute symptoms should be given a drug during the day with an interval between taking the tablets at 1 hour. Single dose of the drug - 1 tablet. The maximum (the same recommended) daily dose - 6 tablets.
With a decrease in the severity of symptoms and a decrease in their quantity, the drug is used in a daily dosage of 4 tablets (single dose remains the same).
Duration of treatment can vary from 3 to 6 days.
It is recommended to take homeopathic tablets half an hour before meals, but you can do it after eating, again in half an hour.
Any homeopathic remedy, homoeopathic doctors recommend taking some time in the mouth before swallowing. The tablets need to dissolve until they dissolve. But such treatment is not very suitable for babies up to 2-3 years.
For very young patients, there is another way of using tablets. They simply grind and dissolve in a small amount of water or tea (you can do this in a teaspoon), then give a swallow baby.
In the same way, with the consent of the pediatrician, the drug is given to infants less than 1 year old. And the effective and safe dosage is determined by a homeopathic doctor.

Use Gastrokind during pregnancy
The use of the drug "Gastrokind" during pregnancy is considered impractical, because it is designed specifically for the treatment of young children, but not adults. For the same reason, its ability to influence the reaction speed, which is taken into account when working with mechanisms and driving a car, is not considered.
Contraindications
Contraindications to the use of homeopathic drugs are usually associated with the individual reaction of the body to the components of the drug. So in the case of a medicine for indigestion in children "Gastrokind."
The drug is not used to treat babies who have a predisposition to allergic manifestations, since this can cause hypersensitivity reactions to the components of the drug.
It is also incorrect to use the drug in the therapy of babies, who have problems with the assimilation of lactose. The list of such patients can include children with insufficient lactase production, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome and such congenital pathology as galactosemia characterized by disorders of galactose metabolism.
The official instructions to the drug indicate that the drug is not used in the treatment of digestive disorders in children under 1 year, but this is due not so much to the safety of the drug as to its form of release, which is considered uncomfortable for infants.
Side effects Gastrokind
According to statistics, the drug as a whole is well tolerated by the bulk of patients. Nevertheless, there have been cases of allergic reactions. Basically it is external manifestations, such as itching on the skin or rash in the form of urticaria.
Allergic reactions appeared against a background of hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug.
If the medication causes a worsening of the condition of a small patient (which sometimes happens in the first days of drug use), there are unusual side effects to Gastrokind, this is the reason to repeatedly contact a doctor so that he reconsiders his appointment (corrected the dose or replaced the drug with others with a similar therapeutic action). The same is recommended if the improvement in the child's condition is not observed within 3 days of the initiation of therapy with the drug.

Overdose
Usually, homeopathic medicines are produced and prescribed in a dosage that does not harm the patient's health, whether it is an adult or a child. In the instructions to the drugs, the maximum allowable dose for each age is indicated.
If, nevertheless, for some reason the toddler received a dose of a medicine from the digestive disorder "Gastrokind", exceeding the permissible standards, this does not represent a danger to life. But the likelihood of developing side effects of the drug in this case increases, which leads to allergic reactions.
Therapy of an overdose is symptomatic, aimed at reducing allergic manifestations. Antidote to the drug is not, but it, however, is not required.
Interactions with other drugs
As for the drug interaction of Gastrokind with other drugs, this information is not available in the official instruction. Nevertheless, it is indicated that the use of the drug does not exclude parallel therapy of various pathologies by other drugs, which, however, is typical for most homeopathic medicines.

Storage conditions
Keep the medicine in a place where access to children is limited, at room temperature, not exceeding 25 degrees.
Shelf life
Shelf life is 5 years, after which the use of homeopathic remedy for digestive disorders in children is considered unacceptable.
