Beloderm is a medicine for external use. He is a member of the SCS group.
[1]
Indications Beloderm
The medicine is indicated for the elimination of dermatoses that are sensitive to glucocorticoids:
- atopic or nodular eczema;
- dermatitis of various types (seborrheic, radiation, solar, contact, as well as exfoliative and intertrigo);
- psoriasis or neurodermatitis;
- anogenital itching;
- stagnant dermatitis.

Release form
Available in the form of a cream or ointment for external use. The volume of the tube with the medicine is 15 or 30 g. In one package - 1 tube.
Pharmacodynamics
The active ingredient of the drug is betamethasone dipropionate - an analogue of prednisolone - an adrenosteroids obtained synthetically.
This substance has a much stronger corticosteroid activity, as well as weak mineralocorticoid properties.
Among the properties of Beloderm - expressed antiallergic, immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory. Due to its use, there is a decrease in the production, as well as the release of PG, histamine, and in addition lysosomal enzymes. In addition, SCS has a specific effect on the processes of moving cells to the area of inflammation, resulting in reduced plasma extravasation, as well as a decrease in the severity of edemas.
The drug weakens the negative antigen-antibody response, and along with this, the effects of lymphokines within the target cells, and in addition macrophages. Also, Beloderm prevents the passage of cells of sensitized macrophages into the body together with T-lymphocytes. As a result of the use of drugs, inhibition of the development of allergic dermatitis occurs.
Pharmacokinetics
Absorption of the active substance into the systemic blood flow is different (the main importance is the condition of the skin - its integrity, and besides the presence of inflammatory foci on it) - in the case of treatment with ointment / cream of damaged epidermis, absorption increases. On the undamaged skin, the absorption of the component will be negligible.
Approximately 64% of the active element is synthesized with proteins within the plasma. The process of metabolism is carried out in the liver.
Drug withdrawal occurs with bile, and in addition urine (maximum 5%).
Dosing and administration
The medicine is used only externally - gently rub the ointment / cream in a dry clean skin (no more than 3 times a day). It is required to apply the drug in a thin layer to avoid an overdose.
As a rule, it is enough to use the medicine 1-2 times per day. If you skip the next procedure, you need to apply the medicine immediately, as it was remembered. If treatment is not done before the next procedure, doubling the dosage is still prohibited.
Sealed dressings increase the systemic effect of the drug - because of this, their use is not recommended.
Do not let the cream into the eyes.
During the treatment course, the work of the hypothalamic-pituitary adrenal system should be closely monitored - if symptoms of its suppression appear, it is necessary to cancel the medicine.
Use Beloderm during pregnancy
For pregnant women, the drug can be prescribed only in an exceptional case, as well as under strict medical supervision for plasma parameters of the active substance. The effects of betamethasone on pregnant women, as well as fetal development after local application, have not been studied.
If you want to use Beloderm during lactation, breastfeeding should be canceled at this time.
Contraindications
Among the absolute contraindications of the medicine:
- high sensitivity to betamethasone, as well as auxiliary components of drugs;
- cutaneous tuberculosis;
- varicosity;
- rosacea;
- developing after vaccination skin reactions;
- perioral dermatitis;
- other skin infections that are caused by fungi and bacteria (without suitable antibacterial and fungicidal treatment);
- application of the medicine to the eye area (strictly prohibited).
Among the relative contraindications:
- with lesions of the skin on the face it is allowed to use the medicine for no more than 7 days;
- hepatic insufficiency (only short-term use of Beloderm is permitted - in small dosages and the use of dressings);
- it is necessary to carefully handle the ointment / cream of the fold area where there is a natural occlusion (the probability of systemic exposure is increased);
- children Beloderm is prescribed with extreme caution (due to the peculiarities of percutaneous absorption of the drug, which in children is higher). In addition, it is necessary to take into account the ratio of the area of the treated area relative to the patient's body size. It is strictly forbidden to treat the skin areas with diapers under diapers.
Side effects Beloderm
External use of betamethasone can lead to collagen reduction, as well as other changes in the state of the skin. As a result, stretch marks are formed on it, atrophy begins, telangiectasia, ecchymosis, hypertrichosis develops, as well as folliculitis.
Long-term use of drugs can cause the development of hyperpigmentation, skin rashes and itching, as well as hair and skin depigmentation. Along with this, long-term use of the drug can weaken the work of the sweat glands.
Because of immunodepression, secondary infection of the skin can begin.
Systemic side effects are almost not observed in a standard treatment regimen, but the risk of their development increases dramatically in the case of an overdose or prolonged use of the drug in large dosages.
If dermatological reactions begin to occur during treatment, Beloderm should be immediately discontinued.
Overdose
The development of an overdose of a systemic type is possible in the case of application of the drug in large volumes, but also with the use of drugs on a large area of skin or the use of hermetic bandages. Chronic form of overdose can develop if you use the drug for more than 3 weeks in a row.
As a result of overdose, the function of the hypothalamic-pituitary adrenal system is suppressed. In children this leads to inhibition of growth and development of intracranial hypertension. There is also a violation of glucose metabolism (such as hyperglycemia or glycosuria) and hypercorticoid syndrome develops.
As a result of suppression of the hypothalamic-pituitary adrenal system in children, in addition to inhibition of the growth process, there is an increase in weight, a decrease in the level of cortisol in the urine with serum, and with it there is no response to the performance of stimulation of ACTH. Signs of intracranial hypertension - pulsation, and with it tension, as well as swelling in the field of temechka, but also a headache.
If there is an overdose, it is necessary to abolish the use of drugs, perform procedures to restore the water-salt balance, conduct treatment aimed at eliminating symptoms.
If the poisoning drug has a chronic form, it may be necessary to gradually stop using drugs.
Storage conditions
The medicine should be stored in a place inaccessible to children, but also dark and dry. The temperature in the room is 15-25 degrees. Do not freeze the cream.

Shelf life
Beloderm is allowed to be used for 4 years from the date of manufacture of drugs.
