Release form

It is produced as a lotion or ointment. The lotions are contained in bottles supplemented with droppers of 50 and 100 ml, as well as in bottles supplemented with sprayers of 20, 50 or 100 ml. The ointment is contained in a tube of 30 g.

Pharmacodynamics

Betamethasone sharply reduces the rate of release of inflammatory neurotransmitters and interleukins, and in addition reduces the production of cytokines and prevents the active action of hyaluronidase and the accumulation of neutrophilic granulocytes.

By enhancing the processes of lipocorin synthesis, the component indirectly promotes the suppression of phospholipase and the process of leukotriene synthesis, as well as stopping the cycle of arachidonic acid activity. Due to these actions, the antiallergic and anti-inflammatory properties of the drug are manifested, and capillary permeability is reduced.

Belosalik reduces the amount of exudate that occurs during the inflammatory process, and also reduces itching and inflammation. By suppressing the ability of macrophages to move, infiltration and wound granulation are reduced.

Salicylic acid is used as a keratolytic agent. Due to the softening of the epidermis surface, the penetration of the active component of the drug into the inflammation site is improved. Exfoliation also becomes more intense, which helps reduce pathogenic keratinization of tissues. The acid contained in the drug creates conditions unfavorable for the reproduction of fungi and bacteria microflora.

The drug cannot be used as an antifungal or antibacterial agent, because such action neutralizes the activity of betamethasone, suppressing local immunity.

GKS has vasoconstrictive properties and also reduces local tissue temperature. The ointment base is selected based on the formation of a protective film on the skin, preventing the loss of internal moisture, and also providing a water-repellent effect relative to water coming from outside.

Dosing and administration

Both forms of the drug are used externally. It should be rubbed into the skin with gentle movements. The drug can be applied under sealed bandages only with the permission of a doctor. The procedure is carried out 1-3 times a day, and if the course is long, treatment is allowed every other day. As a rule, the treatment course lasts no more than 3 weeks.

When eliminating chronic forms of diseases, therapy is continued even after the disappearance of pathological manifestations. Treatment is extended to avoid relapse (the duration of the course is prescribed by a dermatologist).

To spray the lotion (if using a spray bottle), place the tip of the nozzle on the damaged area of the skin under the hair, and then press the spray all the way down.

If the bottle of lotion has a dropper, you need to distribute the medicine over the surface of the skin using your finger or a cotton swab.
