Bellastesin is a combined medicine containing in its composition an extract of belladonna, as well as benzocaine.

Indications Bellastesin

The medication is indicated for the removal of spasms in the smooth muscles of the digestive system organs (in particular, for the treatment of spastic stricture), ptimalism (increased salivation), and also for the treatment of hyperacid gastritis.

Release form

Produced in the form of tablets. One blister contains 10 tablets, the package contains 1 blister plate.

Pharmacodynamics

The properties of the drug are due to the effects of its constituent components. Spasmolytic (reducing the tone of the smooth muscles of the organs inside the gastrointestinal tract) and antisecretory action (retardation of the pancreas and stomach, and in addition to salivary, bronchial and sweat secretion, as well as bile secretion) provide alkaloids, included in the atropine category, from the extract of belladonna (this is hyoscyamine, apatropin, as well as scopolamine, etc.). Analgesic effects on the stomach and esophagus mucosa are anesthesin (or benzocaine).

Dosing and administration

Take Bellastesin should be inside at a dosage of 1 tablet three times a day. It must be swallowed completely, without chewing, and then washed with water.

  • the development of arrhythmia, ischemic heart disease, and a feeling of rhythm of the heartbeat;

Overdose

Due to an overdose of the drug, the patient may experience an increase in side effects, and in addition develop hyperthermia or tachycardia, vomiting with nausea, a feeling of irritability, agitation or drowsiness. It may also lower blood pressure, tremor, cramps, insomnia and hallucinations. In addition, oppression of the respiratory and vasomotor centers, as well as suppression of the central nervous system, is possible.

Interactions with other drugs

As a result of simultaneous use of Bellastesin and glutetimide, antiarrhythmic anticholinergic drugs, tricyclics, and also amantadine, its anticholinergic effect increases.

Combination of the drug with GCS reduces the effectiveness of the latter, and in addition increases the risk of IOP enhancement.

Simultaneous reception of Bellastezin with atropine-like drugs enhances anticholinergic properties.

As a result of simultaneous use of the drug with furosemide, the risk of developing orthostatic collapse in a patient increases.

For the duration of treatment with Bellastesin it is necessary to refrain from drinking alcohol.
