Cholera is endemic in many countries. Inoculation from cholera is carried out with the threat of a drift in the border areas. 2 cholera vaccines are used.
The cholera bivalent chemical pellet vaccine is a mixture of an anatoxin cholerogen obtained from formalin-inactivated broth cholera vibrio culture 569B or 569 (CM-76) Inab serovar and O-antigens derived from cholera vibrio broth cultures 569B or 569 (CM-76) serovar Inaba and M-41 serovar Ogawa by isolation, purification and concentration with ammonium sulfate. Filling tablets - sugar, starch, talc, calcium stearate. Sheath of a tablet of acetylphthalic cellulose. Inoculation from cholera is carried out from 2 years of age. One inoculation dose consists of three tablets. The tablet is a grayish-yellow mass covered with a shiny acid-resistant coating, without taste and odor. Product: in bottles containing 210 tablets (70 man-doses). The vaccine is stored in a dark place at a temperature of 0-10 °. Shelf life - 3 years.
The dose of the vaccine cholera tablet for adult vaccination is 3 tablets, for adolescents 11-17 years - 2 tablets, for children 2-10 years - 1 tablet. Tablets are taken orally for 1 hour before meals, swallowing them whole, without chewing, washing with boiled water. It provides antibacterial, antitoxic and local intestinal immunity for up to 6 months. Revaccination is carried out 6-7 months after the initial vaccination.
Response to the administration and contraindications for cholera vaccination
The cholera vaccine tableted does not cause a general (temperature) reaction. After 1-2 hours after the administration, unpleasant sensations and pain in the epigastric region, rumbling in 0.2% of cases, a single mushy stool can arise .
There are no special contraindications to vaccination against cholera with these vaccines.
