Restoration of the vaginal microflora is usually carried out with the help of vaginal suppositories. Such drugs are no less effective than tablets, and contain the same components (but at lower concentrations). Suppositories for the restoration of microflora act locally, so they provide a faster healing effect.

Release form

The most popular for the restoration of the vaginal flora are such candles as Bifidumbacterin, Ginoflor, Lactocide, Acilact, Laktozhinal, etc.

Suppositories with lactobacilli for normalization of microflora

As a preventive agent for gynecological diseases, which develop due to the violation of the vaginal microflora, a suppository with lactobacilli is used. These drugs have a positive effect on local immunity. The results of the research have revealed that such suppositories are useful as HIV prevention, since they contribute to the activation of the protective forces of the cells most vulnerable to this infection, and also normalize the level of the vaginal pH.

Suppositories with lactobacilli eliminate the itching, discomfort and dryness in the vagina that arise during pregnancy or as a result of frequent douching. Eliminating pathogens, they contribute to a rapid recovery.

If a patient has bacterial vaginosis that develops as a result of stress, immune system disorders, hormonal failure or antibiotic intake, suppositories with lactobacilli (such as Lactobacterin or Lactonorm) may be prescribed. These drugs stabilize the microflora, making up for the lack of useful microorganisms killed under the negative influence of external stimuli.

Properties of suppositories for the recovery of microflora are examined using the example of Acilact and Gynoflor preparations.

Pharmacodynamics

Acylact has a strong antagonistic activity in relation to opportunistic and pathogenic bacteria - intestinal rods (enteropathogenic), staphylococci, and protei. Such medicinal action helps to restore bacteriocenosis of female genitalia.

Pharmacokinetics

After the introduction of the suppository into the vagina, the effects of estriol and dry bacteria begin. A study on the absorption of estriol from the drug was performed in postmenopausal women. With the repeated administration of the suppository, the plasma concentration of estriol was equal to that of the internal unbound estriol. After 12 days of using Gynoflora (1 suppository per day), the maximum saturation of unbound estriol in the blood plasma was the same as the original digits. This indicates that there is no systemic absorption of the drug.

The use of these suppositories does not affect the concentration of sex hormones estradiol and estrone in the blood plasma, since estriol itself is the final product of the process of metabolism of these substances.

Dosing and administration

Suppositories Bifidumbacterin should be introduced into the vagina 2-3 r. / Day. The duration of the treatment course depends on how the microflora changes. On average, it lasts about 7-10 days.

Gynoflore is inserted deep into the vagina from the lying position with slightly knees bent at the knees. The procedure is recommended before bedtime. To stabilize the vaginal microflora after complex or topical use of various antimicrobial drugs or antibiotics, 1-2 suppositories should be administered daily for 6-12 days.

Suppositories Laktozhinal for stabilization of the vaginal microflora after the treatment of bacterial vaginosis are used in this dosage - 2 suppositories daily (in the morning and in the evening) for 7 days or 1 suppository per day for 14 days (this method is usually used by patients who have recently undergone antibacterial treatment ).

Lactobacterin is used to stabilize the microflora after the elimination of thrush - 1 suppository should be administered twice a day for at least 10 days. Repeated course should be carried out within 3-4 months, taking breaks in 10-20 days.

Imbalance of the vaginal flora often accompanies pregnant women, and the treatment of this problem in this case should be treated with special care, as many drugs in this situation can not be used. But at the same time infectious diseases need to be treated quickly, as they can negatively affect pregnancy and fetus.

Pregnant women are suitable for the suppository Terzhinan, Nystatin, and also Polizinaks. With some precautions, Clindamycin may be prescribed.
