Pharmacodynamics
Zinerit is a medicinal complex containing zinc and erythromycin. It has antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and comedolytic properties.
Erythromycin has a bacteriostatic effect on microbes that cause acne: Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis.
Zinc reduces the secretory function of the sebaceous glands and also has an astringent effect.
Pharmacokinetics
Due to the complex connection between the elements of the drug, its active components penetrate well into the skin.
Zinc synthesis occurs mainly in the follicular epithelium, and the substance itself does not penetrate into the circulatory system.
A small amount of erythromycin is distributed systemically within the body and then excreted from it.
Dosing and administration
Before starting the procedure of applying the solution, it is necessary to pour the solvent from the B-bottle into the A-bottle, which contains the powder. Then you need to shake the bottle (about 1 minute is enough) to dissolve the powder, and then close it with a cap with an applicator.
The prepared solution is applied to the skin of the face or only to areas where acne is observed. Each such procedure usually uses approximately 0.5 ml of the medicine.
Zinerit is applied as follows: tilt the bottle with the applicator towards the skin, and then start rubbing it onto the skin, pressing lightly on the bottle. The amount of solution squeezed out depends on the force of pressure on the bottle.
Dose sizes: the procedure must be carried out twice a day, usually over a period of approximately 10-12 weeks.
Noticeable medicinal effects are often observed during the first 12 weeks. If there are no noticeable improvements after this period of time (or, on the contrary, if the condition worsens), it is necessary to consult a doctor. He will conduct an examination to help determine the reliability of the resistance of the bacterial microflora. If such resistance is detected, it will be necessary to stop using the drug for the next 2 months.
Use Zinerita. during pregnancy
Information obtained from the use of Zinerit in pregnant women did not show any negative effects of erythromycin on the course of pregnancy and the fetus. Therefore, the drug is allowed to be prescribed to pregnant women.
Because only a small portion of erythromycin is excreted into breast milk, the drug is allowed to be used during breastfeeding.
Side effects Zinerita.
The use of the solution may cause the following side effects:
- immune signs: isolated hypersensitivity reactions occur (including Quincke's edema, rashes, breathing problems, itching and swelling in the lips, face, mouth or tongue);
- lesions in the subcutaneous layer and skin: sometimes erythema or itching is observed, and in addition, a burning or irritation sensation, as well as peeling or dryness, may be observed in the area of the skin.
Storage conditions
Zinerit powder, as well as the ready-to-use medicinal solution from this powder, must be kept out of the reach of children, at a temperature of no more than 25°C.

Reviews
Zinerit as a remedy for acne gets quite good reviews - people generally rate its effect as positive. Among other things, the drug's speed of action is noted (especially when compared with ointments and gels against acne of the previous generation), the ease of use of the solution (a special applicator, included with the drug, helps), as well as the absence of severe negative reactions.
Among the most significant negative effects of the drug, patients highlight the fact that it dries the skin greatly after application, which is why people with dry skin will most likely have to stop using it. It is also quite often noted that bacteria quickly develop resistance to the erythromycin component - with regular use of the solution, such a reaction may well occur. Factors such as the price of Zinerit and the fact that the ready-made solution has a very short shelf life - a maximum of 5 weeks are also considered negative.
But, if you evaluate the drug as a whole, then the reviews about it still outweigh the positive, as a result of which many dermatologists recommend using it to eliminate acne.
Shelf life
Zinerit powder can be stored for a period of 2 years from the date of release of the medicine. At the same time, the ready solution can be stored for a period of no more than 5 weeks.
