The medicine, which contains 400 mg of active substances, has a slightly different composition. It is supplemented with xanthan gum, sodium alginate, hydrogen carbonate, carbomer and other components.

Zanocin OD is also available with 800 mg of active ingredients. The composition is similar to the previous one, but with the addition of colloidal anhydrous silica gel and lactose monohydrate.

Pharmacokinetics

Extended-release ofloxacin tablets are absorbed much faster than those taken twice daily. After using the drug, its maximum concentration in the blood plasma is reached in 6-8 hours. The full half-life is also 6-8 hours.

Ofloxacin is excreted by the kidneys, so its pharmacokinetics are significantly altered in those patients who have kidney problems. Hemodialysis can slightly reduce the concentration of the main component in the blood.

Zanocin OD is widely distributed throughout all tissues and body fluids. On average, the distribution volume is 1.0-25 l/kg. The drug binds to blood plasma proteins by 31%.

The substance reaches high concentrations in most tissues and body fluids. The drug is excreted unchanged, with almost 24-48% excreted in the urine. About 4-8% of Zanocin OD is excreted with feces.

Dosing and administration

The method of administration and dosage of Zanocin OD is prescribed by the attending physician. Much depends on the severity of the disease, as well as the microorganism that caused the negative reaction of the body. The person's body weight, age and kidney condition are taken into account. After all, the medication to some extent has a negative effect on their functions.

The course of treatment should not exceed 3-14 days. The duration depends entirely on the person's condition. If necessary, the period is increased by another 2-3 days.

The dose of the drug is 400-800 mg per day. The drug should be taken at one time. If a person has gonorrhea, the dose is divided into 2 doses of 400 mg each.

If there are problems with the kidneys, the dosage is individual. It depends on the creatinine clearance. If its value is more than 50 ml/min, the usual dose is used. Interactions with other drugs
