Release form
The drug is available in standard form in tablet form. The only difference between them is the content of the active substance. The drug is used exclusively orally.
The main components of the medicine are: cellulose, corn starch, lactose, sodium starch glycolate, polysorbate, magnesium stearate and others. This applies to the "packaging" of 200 mg.
The medicine, which contains 400 mg of active substances, has a slightly different composition. It is supplemented with xanthan gum, sodium alginate, hydrogen carbonate, carbomer and other components.
Zanocin OD is also available with 800 mg of active ingredients. The composition is similar to the previous one, but with the addition of colloidal anhydrous silica gel and lactose monohydrate.
A certain form of release is selected based on special requirements. Thus, much depends on the person's condition and the infection that needs to be overcome. In general, Zanocin OD has a positive effect in any form.
Pharmacodynamics
Pharmacodynamics - Zanocin OD with prolonged release of the active substance ofloxacin. The drug can be used no more than once a day. The intake is usually single and does not require repetition. Basically, to achieve a certain therapeutic effect, the drug is used in a "concentration" of 400 or 800 mg. It is quite possible to take 2 tablets of 400 mg or 4 of 200 mg. There is no particular difference in this, the only thing is that the intake is not carried out at one time.
Zanocin OD has a bactericidal effect, which is due to the ability to block the bacterial enzyme DNA gyrase. As a consequence of this action, a violation of the function of bacterial DNA occurs. The spectrum of the drug's "work" covers many microorganisms.
It perfectly fights pathogens and blocks their penetration into the body when the drug is used as a preventive measure. Zanocin OD is able to fight off many bacteria, thanks to its unique properties.
Pharmacokinetics
Pharmacokinetics of the drug - quickly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract. Food does not affect the degree of absorption of the drug in any way. Therefore, you can take the drug at any time. The bioavailability of the drug is 96%.
Extended-release ofloxacin tablets are absorbed much faster than those taken twice daily. After using the drug, its maximum concentration in the blood plasma is reached in 6-8 hours. The full half-life is also 6-8 hours.
Ofloxacin is excreted by the kidneys, so its pharmacokinetics are significantly altered in those patients who have kidney problems. Hemodialysis can slightly reduce the concentration of the main component in the blood.
Zanocin OD is widely distributed throughout all tissues and body fluids. On average, the distribution volume is 1.0-25 l/kg. The drug binds to blood plasma proteins by 31%.
The substance reaches high concentrations in most tissues and body fluids. The drug is excreted unchanged, with almost 24-48% excreted in the urine. About 4-8% of Zanocin OD is excreted with feces.

Dosing and administration
The method of administration and dosage of Zanocin OD is prescribed by the attending physician. Much depends on the severity of the disease, as well as the microorganism that caused the negative reaction of the body. The person's body weight, age and kidney condition are taken into account. After all, the medication to some extent has a negative effect on their functions.
The course of treatment should not exceed 3-14 days. The duration depends entirely on the person's condition. If necessary, the period is increased by another 2-3 days.
The dose of the drug is 400-800 mg per day. The drug should be taken at one time. If a person has gonorrhea, the dose is divided into 2 doses of 400 mg each.
If there are problems with the kidneys, the dosage is individual. It depends on the creatinine clearance. If its value is more than 50 ml/min, the usual dose is used. When it is 20-50 ml/min, then no more than 400 mg of the drug should be used per day. If the value is 20 ml/min or less, it is not recommended to use the drug.
Patients with severe liver failure should not take more than 400 mg of the drug per day. If the dosage is calculated incorrectly, Zanocin OD can cause serious harm.
Use Zanocin OD during pregnancy
The use of Zanocin OD during pregnancy should be discussed with the attending physician. Naturally, this medication is not recommended. It can penetrate the placenta and thus has a negative effect on the development of the fetus.
A similar situation occurs during breastfeeding. The active component of the medicine can easily penetrate into the baby's body through the mother's milk. Its effect on the developing organism can be harmful. Therefore, the use of the medicine must be fully discussed with the doctor.
It is prohibited to use the product in the early stages of pregnancy. The woman's body is on the verge of restructuring, it is very vulnerable, so various external influences can have a negative effect on it. This should not be allowed under any circumstances.
The medication can be used under the careful guidance of the attending physician. After all, only he can prescribe a certain dosage or find an alternative way to solve the problem. Taking Zanocin OD on your own is not allowed!

In some cases, confusion, drowsiness and lethargy may develop. Dizziness, nausea and vomiting are possible. This occurs when the concentration of the drug in the body is high.
There is no specific antidote, so standard emergency measures should be used. The first step is to wash the stomach. The body should be freed from the drug. It is recommended to resort to hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
Naturally, the help of a doctor is necessary. It is unlikely that you will be able to improve the condition on your own. If you do not exceed the dose on your own and follow the recommendations of a specialist, Zanocin OD will not harm the body.
Interactions with other drugs
Interactions with other drugs, perhaps, it is necessary to do this with special caution. Thus, the concentration of theophylline in the blood can increase significantly if you take this medication together with Zanocin OD. Therefore, at least 4 hours should pass between the use of these drugs. Especially if the other drug contains iron, aluminum, magnesium and zinc.
Probenecid, furomesid and cimetidine are able to delay the process of removing ofloxacin from the body. NSAIDs in turn are able to stimulate the effect of ofloxacin on the central nervous system,
When used simultaneously, it is necessary to monitor coagulation parameters. If oral antidiabetic drugs are used, then glycemic parameters are monitored.
If a person takes more than one drug, then this should be reported to the attending physician. After all, their influence on each other can be unacceptable and lead to serious consequences. Zanocin OD is a powerful drug that requires complete control over its use.
